Vintage Red Star Fatigue Cap

Just got it today! Looks cute and seems well made! Perfect for what I need. My kid wants to wear it every day. Good purchase. Thank you.

I got this hat today and wore it for the day. My girlfriend is Chinese and I am white. So when she sees me wearing this Chinese Red Star hat she giggles, teases me, tells me that it is sexy and that the hat makes me look handsome. When we are out, and the hats Chinese red stars attract the female eye, then I put on this 60 year old WW II Army vet hats and they disappear. That's how great the hats sexy. In addition, the materials, color, detail, design, is excellent. Rothco never let me down. Their are a no B.S. company and have the best stuff on this subject matter in 68 years. I'm retired Navy 84-88 and the hat goes with my Navy Vietnam Tien Cot Navy caps. They go together as if they were meant to be with each other. As to shipping time, they took 48 hrs from shipping. That was really good, very very fast considering everything else in this economy. Keep it up Rethco!! And one more thing, China's star, is that a hidden Communist symbol, Communist? It reminds me when Cuba put their flag with the Soviet Red Star and it made the Americans really angry. When I was younger it was real cool. But it's like what everyone said then too: Be careful, there are Communists behind every tree! This Communist Red Star can't be trusted. That hat is subversive to Americas free, republican government and that's dangerous. It's communist and it makes you walk to Russia, comrade!! Lol I am not making this up. Don't let them pull the, my brain didn't think it was right and so I returned it and so on crap, because I'm telling the truth and that's the facts. I love this hat and its a great value for 11 bucks, in all honesty.

Recommended for anyone looking for a cool communist style cap. Worth the price for a novelty item. I am very happy. Looks just like on the pic

Cap looks better in reality

Adored it! This is my go to cap. I don't take it off. Love it so much I got a size smaller. I usually don't recommend buying this brand but I do now. The Chinese Star caps I tried from China failed in the shipping and the color shifted on all of them, and yes that's how Chinese caps are. Rothco's though I have received two colors so far, fit well, color does not change in the sun.

I read reviews that it runs small so there are no dead patches in the center or sides like in a standard hat (not knocking a normal fit but a star shape requires uniform stretch across) this was spot on! A plus to buying a China made piece is the fact you get the highest quality you will find anywhere for such a cheap cost, you are getting 100 % rip stop material ( a 42” man can fit into 1700-850ish patch) AND there’s Velcro already installed which in my case I can replace the Red star with the flags of Panama and use it in that countrys honor for there bravery to help this country against our drug lords in the cartel war

Great cap for someone who isn't fond of traditional baseball caps. Doesn't get in the way when worn underneath another hat, and looks cool. The cap doesn't seem like the most high quality material, but that's okay because it looks like it will get scratched up and fit the casual look I'm going for.

Wore the same back in the day and I like to add a personal touch and that was this cap and my MEDICS PATCH!! Nuff said!!!????⭐️????????

I bought it as a refrence to my Chinese hat my Dad brought back for my Granddad who brought it back for WWI (or so I'm assuming). My great great uncle served with Canadian Forces (Ontario Scottish regiment), Royal Navy during the Second World War, Canadian Army and served during World War One in the Army Cycle Corps of the British Expeditionary Force.

Not the most high quality hat I have ever had but its not what you expect when your spending this low a price. Its made out of 100% fake plastic ripstop so don't go into it expecting to be using it to put over an expensive warm sleeping bag, this hat has limited water repellent and durability capabilities, also no wind proofness at all! This was made in China in fact the first line on the paperwork inside says MADE IN CHINA the next one on a different line in bigger letters says made in the peoples republik......... Its a starter hat I say get one if your a broke baby like me and don't want to shell out 30-40 bucks on a real one and just for god's sake keep the visor straps buckled cause the hat will fly off your noggin in the draft if you let it free-flow with them undone!!! it also could be useful to store extra cloth patches/badges and whatever inside the head area and when the hat eventually gets washed it should be less likely to get lost in the washer. Last note it is not a fatigue cap like some of the earlier posters seem to think its actually more reminiscent of Mao's cultural movement hat! Which if I remember correctly, is not just the 1 or 2 color ones they make in mainland china today but had multicolored symbols and prints on them in red as well, if you go back to earlier communist/marx era material or pics you can find examples. I'm pretty sure there are many variants out there, these were designed after that movement ended. I'm just giving a historical rundown and im not being defensive at all about this piece. Just stating some information to counteract mislead comments about this piece. Its been stated in comments that its meant to look like a militaristic product but I guess people dont realize it does have ties to Mao's movement.
