Features
- Drop-In Ruger 10/22 Replacement — Direct replacement for the factory stamped extractor in the Ruger 10/22 and 10/22 Magnum, with no fitting or gunsmithing required.
- A2 Tool Steel Construction — Machined from A2 tool steel rather than stamped sheet metal or titanium, delivering far greater durability and edge retention than the OEM part.
- Hardened Rc 58–60 — Heat-treated to a Rockwell hardness of 58–60 so the hook maintains a sharp, positive bite on the case rim through thousands of rounds.
- EDM-Machined Precision — Produced via electrical discharge machining to a tolerance of ±0.0001 inch, ensuring consistent geometry from part to part.
- Repositioned Hook Geometry — The hook sits .005" closer to the cartridge rim than the factory part, giving a stronger purchase on the case for more reliable extraction.
- Beveled Lower Edge — A chamfer machined onto the bottom edge prevents the extractor from catching on the next round as it feeds up out of the magazine.
- Cures Common 10/22 Malfunctions — Eliminates failures to extract, stovepipes, and feeding hiccups commonly traced back to a worn or out-of-spec OEM extractor.
- Multi-Platform Compatibility — Same part also fits Ruger Mark II, Mark III, Mark IV, and 22/45 pistols, so one upgrade covers your whole Ruger rimfire lineup.
- Made in USA — Manufactured by Volquartsen Firearms in Carroll, Iowa, with the company's reputation for precision rimfire components.

Fixed my 10/22 stovepipe problem instantlyMy bone stock 10/22 was stovepiping about every 15-20 rounds and it was driving me insane. Tried different ammo, different mags, cleaned the bolt face, nothing helped. Did some research on the Rimfire Central forums and everyone said the same thing replace the factory extractor with the Volquartsen. Dropped it in and the difference was immediate. The Exact Edge hook grabs the rim .005" closer than the factory part and you can actually feel the difference when you manually cycle the bolt. Ran 500 rounds of bulk Federal AutoMatch through it last weekend with zero and I mean ZERO failures to extract. The A2 tool steel hardened to Rc 58-60 means this thing is gonna outlast the rifle. For $12 this should be the first upgrade every 10/22 owner makes
A2 tool steel hardened to Rc 58-60, virtually indestructible
Wire EDM cut for exacting tolerances, noticeably better than factoryWish Volquartsen included a small instruction sheet for people who havent taken apart a 10/22 bolt before
