These Rothco pants follow the BDU cut, short for Battle Dress Uniform, the pattern of field trouser the US military wore for decades. They are built for work outdoors: six pockets to carry gear, doubled fabric where pants wear out first, and an adjustable waist so they stay put under load. • 55/45 Cotton-Poly Blend — The mix of 55% cotton and 45% polyester gives the comfort of cotton with added strength and less shrinkage from the polyester.
• Six-Pocket Layout — Two front slash pockets, two thigh cargo pockets and two rear pockets give you room for a phone, knife, map or gloves.
• Button-Flap Cargo Pockets — The large thigh pockets close with buttoned flaps so contents stay put when you kneel, climb or crawl.
• Reinforced Knees And Seat — An extra layer of fabric is sewn over the knees and seat, the areas that take the most abrasion in the field.
• Adjustable Waist Tabs — Side tabs with slide buckles let you take in the waist for a closer fit, with or without a belt.
• Button Fly Closure — A buttoned fly and waistband follow the original BDU design and avoid a zipper that can jam or break.
• Drawstring Ankle Ties — Cords at the hems let you blouse the pants, meaning cinch them snugly over boot tops to keep out dirt, brush and ticks.

Fabric And Fit

Rothco cuts these pants from a cotton and polyester twill that holds up to repeated washing and rough use better than all-cotton trousers. The leg is straight and roomy, so it moves freely when you squat and fits over boots without bunching. The waist tabs and ankle ties let you adjust the fit at the waist and hems for active use or keep the pants loose for everyday wear.
