As Advertised.

I'm not sure what kind of math the other purchasers of this bag were taught, but maybe they should try a simple tape measure. The main compartment opening of this bag is a little over 18", edge to edge. The attached pic is my 17" MacBook Pro...Inside of a padded sleeve, inside the bag; and there's still over 1" of play in the main compartment. So yes; This bag will accomodate a 15.6" or larger laptop.

Nice bag, easy to customize

Review by Unique P.

Good product, I use it everyday for my laptop (pixelbook size), camera and my everyday items.
I would not use it as it is, as it offers no protection or compartments in the main pocket.
I added a laptop semi rigid sleeve and a foam pouch from an old camera bag. This way it stays in shape and my gear is protected and organized. I did sew a extra zip pocket under the flap (from the same old camera bag), very useful.
The cons: When you wear it the shoulder sling tends to get loose and slowly gets longer. Not a big thing, I did put a paper clip at the beginning, did not work very well.
The buckle of this same shoulder sling doesn't stay horizontal as you can see in the picture, just aesthetics, again not a big thing.
Not waterproof but can take rain for a short moment without risking your things to get wet.
Can be heavy on the shoulder when fully loaded, you might want to change the strap if you will carry a lot.
Conclusion, a good bag for the price, with a bit of customization you get the functionality of the way more expensive camera/laptop bags without the price, the brand logo ("expensive stuff inside sign"), and a better look.

Despite the amazing reviews, I was still wary of the quality of what I would receive for such a low price. I was beyond surprised! This bag is very well made, excellent quality, and very durable. I liked it so much I bought a second one!

I bought this bag for my grandson. I was not sure if he would like it. He opened it and we were all pleasantly surprised how big and versatile it was. More importantly, he started using it that very instant.

I would recommend it for any young man.

Does not meet up to expectations

Review by Juana L.

When I first got the bag, I was really happy. The strap was extendable enough so that it could easily go around me, which as a 6 foot 3 guy was impressive. It had enough room to carry all of my stuff, which on most days was the following: change of clothes (shirt, gym shorts, undershirt, underwear), iPad, container with the day's lunch, miscellaneous things like deodorant and umbrella. It did not feel too heavy on my shoulder either.

Unfortunately, the quality of the material used to build the straps is not all that great. I started using it on a Monday, and by Friday one of the straps around the buckle was starting to fray. I did not use it on Saturday/Sunday, and continued to use it the following week. By Tuesday, it was so frayed that the strap around the buckle was about to fall off and I would no longer be able to strap the bag around my shoulder. What use is a messenger bag without this ability?

Besides the build quality, the two quibbles I had with the bag were no internal separators and really weird velcro. In the inside compartment, there is no way to separate anything. I had to put in a folder to help separate my iPad from my stinky gym clothes. As for the velcro, the velcro on the cover flap was horizontal but the velcro on the bag was vertical, making it really hard to close the bag if there was anything in it of substance.

Tl;dr: Decent bag (which is why it got two starts instead of one) until the strap starts to fall apart. In my case, that was after 4-5 days of usage. From other reviews I see here, it happens to others in varying times after a few months or less of usage.

the Velcro on the flap doesn't line up with the Velcro on the bag. It's bigger than we wanted and the Velcro only closing if the flap is higher than the bag is annoying. Overall, it wasn't really worth the price of $30. More like $18.

I was looking for a heavy duty bag to carry materials in. The bag is made of heavy canvas which can easily handle heavy books without straining or breaking. The books need to be carried facing 'up' as the bag cannot take books lying flat - it is too narrow. The two side pouches have a big button which holds up well enough. The front two compartments are open which is fine for a big pouch - I have a fat, fully loaded Maxpedition pouch which fits in it snugly. There is also a small little pouch inside the main compartment which can hold an small, flat items or coins. The bags main cover seals with a Velcro strip over the front of the bag, but the main compartment does not have a zip or buttons. If the bag falls over upside-down, loose items can fall out, especially if the Velcro comes loose. Overall, it's simple and does the job of carrying weight without breaking like a lot of the cheaper, synthetic material bags.

I've had this bag for about four years I think and it is still going strong. It has faded from being used everyday, every semester and the Velcro needs to be replaced but other than that it is great. I have full faith that it will last much longer and I will continue to use it til it finally falls apart.

Absolutely perfect!

Review by Monty T.

I have had this bag for over a year now and everything is perfectly intact except for the weakened Velcro, which is understandable since I use the bag almost every day. I put a lot of stress on it, carrying around a bulky laptop, school books, lunch etc and still there has been no tears. Compartments galore! I love the outer side pockets for my water bottle and umbrella which I could whip out in transit, and the other two huge compartments when you open the flap fits my lunch in one and my cosmetics in the other. If something were to happen to my bag I would definitely repurchase, thoroughly impressed!
