GI-Pattern 1911 Safety
This United Defense thumb safety is a replacement part for standard-frame 1911 pistols, built to the original government pattern. It suits a worn or damaged safety, a GI-style restoration, or a build that should look and work like an issue pistol. The single lever sits on the left side of the frame, where a right-handed shooter's thumb rests, and pushing it up locks the pistol on safe.

Fit and Construction
The safety is a one-piece steel part: lever, checkered pad, locking lug and pivot pin, finished in black parkerizing to match original-pattern frames and slides. It is sized for standard-frame 1911s with a single-sided safety. Like most 1911 safeties, it engages the sear directly, so check engagement after installation, and have a gunsmith fit it if you are not confident doing so yourself.
