I got the smaller Cold Steel Black pistol model 40 caliber as a good Training Aid in Simunitions to learn with a budget It doesn't hurt like the $100 Glock, M9, Model-O, D-M9. Great alternative if you need a good Pew and Peel off your bad trigger habits for the FDE/Gray Series for Simunitions Match. The Barrel comes off with 2 Phillips Head screws and plastic pin with 2 rubber Ballbearings attached, just push out. Together with the screwdriver. You just have to swap them around to the 3 slots. You get the Tan version without this. No impact. Just feels of your gun. Not Glock real but not Impact.

Pistol fits well into the belt. The weight is good for shooting and trigger action is good. The grip texture is perfect for manipulation. Only downside was a screw that fell out of my leg holster and needed to be glued back in. I was a little worried about it scratching the finish on the rubber pistol, but I haven't seen any issues so far.

Excellent way to practice retention drills with IWB holster wear. I’ve been doing so and so drills for a few years now and I’ve had my IWB/Rosadoholster combo slip out of its’ retention once or twice. My solution to this was buying this 1911 model training gun. This thing works great for a lot of exercises. Especially when wearing my Rosadoholster which features a snappy holster flap that has a habit of catching on sweaters, and what have you. The 1911 version of the training gun helps prevent this and helps improve my ability to draw my pistol faster. Also it is perfect for drills that call for draw and thrust practice with retention. You will be amazed at how often these techniques help on the street. Also helps to re-introduce yourself to proper drawing and firing techniques when your hand isn’t free to fire off your best double action two-stage trigger (these guns only have single action triggers).
