This is a great little whistle, It’s about the size of a big matchbox and it’s made out of some strong plastic. It is definitely loud. The whole time I was trying it out in my house I had to make myself stop so I didn’t get deaf. The only problem I had with it is that I couldn’t find it when I needed it, but it’s small so I understand.

We all need whistles, and safety should be at the front of our minds all the time! So, it’s only a good idea to keep a safety whistle on you.

Purchased for my wife for when out running in the local parks. We also got one for my daughter and myself in a bright pink color for outdoor activities as well.

It is super small and light. The bright yellow color makes it easy to find on my keychain. It's very loud and has a shrill tone to it. I'm pretty confident it would be very easy to be heard. Great price for a very reliable whistle. I've seen these sized whistles go for as much as $10 and this one was cheaper. This is the one I'm keeping on my car key chain. If I had a serious whistle to keep on my life jacket, I'd probably go with the more industrial ACME whistle. The bigger size, the dark color, and the $5+ price tag probably makes it worth it. This one is just fine for me. It gets the job done. Great value. It's exactly what I was looking for and it works great.

I bought this whistle to use with my Boy Scout group and we were disappointed to find that it is very small. If you are going to have to carry it around on your life (in case of getting lost, etc) then the size is not important, but for scouting where you need to carry the equipment with you and still wear a backpack, this whistle is a little smaller than what we were looking for.

I've always carried the "SAFE CARD WHISTLE", and although I've been in situations I could have used a 60 db whistle, and there wasn't one available, but I always had my safe card. When this whistle arrived, and I took a whistle tone on it. Man, it is loud. Not quite as, I guess, (compared to my card) at 60 db's. But, this whistle is really very well made. In comparing to some of the old whistles out there, this is a super model, and would be a really great 360 degree all purpose whistle.

This is the perfect emergency safety device for your daily life. Small enough to wear on your key ring. I keep one in my vehicle and my daily work bag. I have an old one for camping and fishing. I use a lanyard on it so it hangs from my neck so it is always ready. The lanyard makes the whistle the perfect length to hit against your lips to whistle the SOS emergency signal. It is not overly loud but will cut through a fair amount of background sound. It has enough pitch and decibels to penetrate fog, high trees, and deep canyons in the high country. I carry it for safety in case of emergency. It will draw people to you in a crowded space. You will also find out just how many assholes there are in your town when your dumb drunk neighbor goes for a night swim in your irrigation canal. Been through 3 different kinds of red/black Acme dog and personal safety whistles in the last 10 years and have always been very pleased with their build quality and serviceability. You really don't need anything better than this, even when you are on a survival trek. For survival it can be easily concealed and still heard in even thick forest cover. This should be in every outdoorsperson and urban hiker's kit. Don't get anything less. Update. Just realized this is now an LED whistle. No way to make one with a light up face without ruining the acoustics. My 2nd thought would be that you should get 2. One of your primary needs when in danger. You can blow it when necessary and keep it under your tongue while it blinks. Great solution! I am surprised that some companies would charge extra for an added accessory like this.

I bought this for my daughter to carry in her purse as she goes out at night by herself. It's small and lightweight but loud enough to be heard if you need help or are in danger.

This is a great whistle! I use it when hiking to alert wildlife and other hikers of my presence. It’s loud and very easy to blow.

I use this to keep track of my dogs while they are out running around in the woods. It's very loud and I can hear it from a mile away.
