Canvas Equipment Duffle

The Rothco Brown Canvas Equipment Bag is a barrel-shaped cotton canvas duffle sized for a gym kit, a range day, or an overnight change of clothes. It carries by hand or over the shoulder, and the front is printed with vintage military-style stencil markings. The "Date MFD 06/1953" line is part of the design: this is a new commercial bag, not issued surplus.

Features

• Cotton Canvas Body — Tightly woven cotton canvas gives the bag a soft, structured shell that holds its barrel shape when packed.
• Full-Length Top Zipper — A metal-toothed zipper runs along the top so the main compartment opens wide for loading and unloading.
• Wraparound Webbing Handles — The two cotton webbing carry handles run down and under the body, so the weight sits on the straps instead of the seams.
• Box-X Stitched Anchors — Each handle is sewn down with a box-and-X stitch pattern, a square with a cross through it that spreads the load across more of the fabric.
• Detachable Shoulder Strap — An adjustable webbing strap clips onto both ends with black swivel snap hooks and comes off when you only want the hand grips.
• Zippered Front Pocket — A horizontal zip pocket above the stencil, fitted with a leather pull tab, keeps keys, a phone or a wallet out of the main load.
• Rear Patch Pocket — The back panel carries a second stitched pocket with its own zipper and leather pull.
• Vintage Stencil Print — Yellow "Bag, Equipment" lettering with reference and part numbers copies the look of mid-century military issue markings.
• Contrast Orange Stitching — Orange thread outlines the seams, handles and pockets against the brown canvas.
• Yellow Strap Tab — A bright yellow nylon tab on the shoulder strap makes the bag easy to spot on a baggage belt or in a pile of gear.

Construction and Carry

Rothco builds the bag from brown cotton canvas with cotton webbing for the handles and shoulder strap, and metal zippers on the main opening and pockets. The handles loop under the barrel and are sewn down at the top edge, which helps a full bag hang evenly. With the strap clipped on it rides across the body. Unclipped, it packs down flat for storage.
