This was for a boy, which means that it was big enough for him to be happy. For an 8 year old, I think that this bag is just about right.

Great canvas bag! It is smaller than I had expected

I like this bag but it was about half the size I had expected. I use it for small electronics and odds and ends when I am not carrying a big tote bag. It does look good and I like the colors and vintage style.

Rothco Canvas Bag: An Imagined Medic's Field Bag
Review by Keepshooting Customer
I purchased this canvas bag, assuming that the Indiana Jones movies of my younger days were a faithful depiction of archeology during this era of exploration and anthropology. Of course, it is unlikely to encounter poison darts in any authentic historical context, or that leather goods would offer protection against such dangers, and thus why one would need an attendant medic in the first place. However, given the dark side, there is something comforting about having the gear in hand, and it does lend to making any work in fieldwork or travel seem that much more interesting and imaginative, especially when coupled with field notes, a sturdy flashlight and compass, maps, emergency supplies, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, first aid kit, and most importantly the gear of office. For the quality price of such a gear pack, and my imagined medical officer's military field bag, there is no reason not to consider making the mistake of carrying around something such as the Baker Military Notebook (I was hoping for such finds to document each trip, though only three small notebooks in to this journey, such record keeping would be much easier in any standard ruled book or ledger. The book itself offers five black or off-white notebook sections that could fit various artifact finds or photos and notes for record. These are of course only a sample to suggest what one could expect from such an accessory (my personal items are certainly my own personal, which may suggest how one would actually prefer to use such a notebook), so it is important to keep in mind that many materials would not withstand some type of field or rain environment, thus if the ultimate aim is to record notes and findings for scientific purposes, it would be important to invest in a quality and more suitable material that would stand the wear and tear. As for this field bag, such gear can serve many uses, and depending on one's mind and imagination, it can also lend to any creative purpose one can fathom. Aside from the larger items and pockets, there is also the overall satchel of design, a leather carrying case (which could include a smaller satchel or notes, maps, a camera, or whatnot,

I use this bag every day. Very practical. Lots of pockets and holds my small tablet, chargers and cords, and my stuff very nicely. It's been through all sorts of abuse and held up great. No regrets.

Great Bag
Review by Keepshooting Customer
I bought this bag to carry my laptop around in and it works great! It's small enough not to be obnoxious but big enough to fit my 15" macbook pro (which has a screen size of about 17") comfortably. The only thing I would say was wrong with it was that the straps were a little bit long and I had to cut them down so they wouldn't get caught on things when I put it over my shoulder.
