Quality 1911 mag at a fair price, feeds everythingThe 1911 platform has been around for over a century and finding quality compact mags for the shorter frames can be hit or miss. This Check-Mate 8 rounder is solid. The stainless steel construction is corrosion resistant which matters if your carrying it in a pocket or an IWB holster where moisture exposure is inevitable. The 8 round capacity is correct for compact 1911s and the witness holes at rounds 4 and 8 let you do a quick ammo count without unloading. Dropped one into my Kimber Ultra Carry and it locked in with a positive click, no wobble, no fitting required. Loaded it up with Federal HST and ran the whole mag through it at the range zero malfunctions, zero nosedives, perfect feeding all the way through. The feed lips are precisely formed and the spring tension is strong and consistent. At this price for a quality compact 1911 mag this is a no brainer.
