Cold Steel Trench Hawk

<span>It’s quite heavy, exposes how weak my arms are, I’m gonna have to work out to use this thing! The design is practical and sturdy. Doesn’t need to be sharpened out of the package either. I highly recommend this, but only as intended, it should be obvious that this is a weapon and not a tool it terms of design. 5 Stars!</span>

<span>No complaints. Seems to be constructed and designed well. Blade is absolutely razer sharp right out of the package. We'll balanced even though I didn't buy it as a throwing tomahawk. Not sure why some reviews said the handle was slippery. It has a fine knurled surface but maybe slippery if wet. I augmented that with skull and crossbone hockey tape. Added some 550 paracord as a survival item. Also blue threadlocked the bolts to prevent them from backing out in combat use.<br>Excellent value for 40 bucks!!</span>

<span>I've had this cold steel trench hawk for 10 years now. I simply love this hawk for what it is. I mainly use it for hunting and camping. It has helped me clear shooting lanes, chop fire wood, drag logs with the spike, food prep and I once hunted a rabbit with it lol. It's been sharpened multiple times and is easy to get shaving sharp in a few minutes with a file. If I could only bring one tool with me, it would most likely be this cold steel trench hawk, it earned it's self a permanent place on my 3 day pack.</span>

<span>I ordered this about two weeks ago, never received it so KeepShooting was nice enough to send me a replacement. I happened to get it today when I was off and got to go test it, it's amazingly sharp out of box. Swings amazingly well, lightweight but also heavy enough to get a good swing. Definitely recommend this tomahawk!</span>

<span>Working</span>

<span>I carry this at night when I walk my dogs. We have aggressive coyotes and occasional mountain lions.<br>This axe can definitely do some damage but it’s made very cheaply and I worry about breakage. I definitely wouldn’t use this as a worker.</span>

<span>While I can't say the same for the Cold Steel throwing knives I came across (they break too easily), this Trench hawk is a formidable weapon and built like a tank. The only caveat some may have is the slippery grip that may be a problem when soaked with the enemy's blood or water/sweat. Just get yourself some hockey tape and problem solved. If I can find a shrink wrap with that kind of grip surface, that would be another viable solution. As for the quality of the ax head and the overall design - I can't complain at all just how solidly this is built. It does have a long handle for great leverage in striking an enemy combatant at an arms length but for throwing, you'd need to be at least 25 feet away due to the length of the handle. Overall, an EXCELLENT choice. I'm very happy with the purchase ( I purchased it from *Bay at a special price under $40 and bought a spare handle just in case I'd need it in the future).</span>

<span>Arrived 10 days early first impressions are that this is a great Tomahawk. Out of the box it is very sharp. Feels well balanced for throwing. Had some grease on the edge to protect from rust during shipping which was nice to see. For the price I paid for it seems like it was well Walworth the money will put it through its paces this summer and possibly revise this review after I have had a chance to use it on a regular basis while camping. But first impressions so far are positive. First test will be edge retention for normal use then after throwing. I have some high expectations for thus Tomahawk amd hopemit will perform as good as advertised</span>

<span>Sharp out the box</span>

<span>I like the fact it was durable enough to use as a camp axe. I wanted a tool with multiple uses, go bag, and not just defense. This is capable of breaching, chopping, and other survival requirements. Not the lightweight throwing Tomahawk. I watched a prior SAS YouTube video on using this axe for survival and was sold. Without the huge expense of more custom tools.</span>

<span>Got this pretty recently. In terms of a home defense weapon I think this is more shock value than practical. It's a toss up if I would go for my aluminum fish bat over this thing in home defense, right now would probably not choose this thing. It's on the heavy side (which, yes, not necessarily a bad thing depending on use case) but you can choke up on the handle which improves the balance for combat style swings.<br><br>Like others have said you will need to wrap the handle for grip. Sheath is OK, definitely works but I wouldn't rely on it for heavy use. But it's suitable for keeping this around the house, and I doubt I'll be taking this further than the backyard for practice.</span>

<span>As an ex-officer of the Pioneers Corps (EOD), I value real and efficient products. This tomahawk is well balanced, solid, easy to use and sharp. I recommend it for outdoor chores, gardening activities or possible survival experience. It is part of my Bug Out kit now.</span>
