TASER
Less-Lethal Self-Defense
TASER invented the modern less-lethal self-defense device, and its name is now shorthand for the whole category. At Keep Shooting we carry the Pulse 2 — a 15-foot conducted-energy weapon with a built-in laser and light — the StrikeLight 2 stun flashlight, and genuine replacement cartridges. Stop a threat from a distance, then get to safety.
About TASER
TASER is the name that defined less-lethal self-defense. At Keep Shooting we carry its civilian conducted-energy devices and genuine replacement cartridges — tools designed to stop a threat without lethal force.
A Device Built to Save Lives
The TASER has an unmistakably nerdy origin: its name is an acronym for Thomas A. Swift’s Electric Rifle, after the gadget in a 1911 Tom Swift adventure novel. NASA researcher Jack Cover began developing the real thing in 1969, but the brand as we know it was born in 1993, when brothers Rick and Tom Smith founded the company in Scottsdale, Arizona. Their motivation was personal — two high-school friends had been killed in a road-rage shooting — and their goal was a genuinely effective alternative to a firearm. The breakthrough was using compressed nitrogen instead of gunpowder to launch the probes, which is why a TASER is not legally a firearm. The parent company rebranded to Axon in 2017, but TASER remains the name on the device that started it all.
TASER Pulse 2 & StrikeLight 2
The TASER Pulse 2 is the flagship civilian device. Unlike a contact stun gun, it fires two probes up to 15 feet and delivers neuromuscular incapacitation — it overrides the body’s muscle control rather than just causing pain, giving even a much smaller defender a real stop. A built-in laser and LED help you aim, and the 30-second cycle is designed so you can set it down and get to safety. It ships ready to carry with two cartridges, a sleeve, and a practice target. For close quarters, the StrikeLight 2 hides a 20,000-volt contact stun and an audible arc warning inside a 700-lumen flashlight — a discreet everyday-carry deterrent that recharges over USB-C. Both live in our stun guns & tasers, alongside non-electric options like pepper spray.
Cartridges & How It Works
A ranged TASER is only ready if it’s loaded, so keep spare cartridges on hand. The C2 Live Cartridges 2-pack fits the consumer line — C2, Pulse, Pulse+, and Bolt — while the Air Cartridges 2-pack feeds the law-enforcement M26 and X26 series. Each uses compressed-nitrogen propulsion with a 15-foot reach and scatters serialized AFID tags — tiny confetti markers that let a deployment be traced back to the cartridge. It’s smart to practice and rotate stock so you’re always ready. A quick note: TASER and stun devices are restricted or prohibited in some states and cities, so check your local laws before ordering. For other personal-safety options, see SZCO stun-gun flashlights and Mace and Sabre sprays in our safety & security gear. Every TASER order ships from Keep Shooting with fast handling and our satisfaction guarantee.
