Iraqi Army Surplus
Saddam-Era Iraq • One-of-a-Kind Collectibles
One of the rarest origins in the surplus world. Our Iraqi collection features genuine Saddam-era documents that came from inside the regime’s own filing cabinets — original Special Security Organization vetting files with handwritten Arabic entries, official Baghdad stamps, and presidential letterhead. True primary-source history, and no two sets are alike.
Iraqi Army Surplus at Keep Shooting
Most military surplus is gear — jackets, packs, canteens. Iraqi surplus is different: what survived the fall of the Ba’athist state in 2003 is mostly paper, and paper tells the sharper story. Keep Shooting’s Iraqi collection centers on genuine documents from Saddam Hussein’s security apparatus — primary-source artifacts of one of the most heavily surveilled societies of the twentieth century, of the kind studied by historians and held in institutional archives.
The centerpiece is an original Special Security Organization personnel vetting file from the mid-1990s. The SSO — Jihaz al-Amn al-Khas — was the most powerful and secretive arm of the regime’s security services, and its 23-field vetting questionnaire mapped a subject’s identity, education, political leanings, and family networks in unsettling detail. Each set pairs the questionnaire with supporting Iraqi identity papers and carries original handwritten Arabic entries, Baghdad security directorate stamps and signatures, revenue stamps, photographs, and presidential letterhead under the Iraqi eagle. Because these are real files on real subjects, every set is one of a kind.
For collectors of Cold War and late-twentieth-century intelligence history, this is the same appeal as Stasi-era paperwork from our East German surplus collection — documents that put the machinery of a police state directly in your hands, decades after that machinery stopped. Display it, archive it, or build a teaching collection around it.
Every order ships fast from our Pennsylvania warehouse with our satisfaction guarantee — and surplus like this is strictly limited, so when a set is gone, it’s gone. Explore more unusual finds in our military collectibles, browse all surplus by country, or see the full military surplus store.
