The Duofold by Champion Varitherm Expedition Crew is a long-sleeve baselayer shirt. A baselayer is the layer worn directly against the skin, under your shirt, fleece or jacket. Its job is to move sweat away from your body and hold warmth close, because damp skin chills fast once you stop moving. Wear it for winter hunting, cold-range days, camping, or long hours outside where the temperature keeps dropping.

Features

• Polyester Knit Fabric — Polyester holds very little water, so moisture moves through and off the fabric instead of soaking in the way cotton does.
• Spandex Stretch — Spandex blended into the knit lets the shirt stretch with you when you reach, shoulder a rifle or climb into a stand, then recover its shape.
• Close Baselayer Fit — The cut sits close to the body, so the fabric can wick sweat and you can layer over it without extra bulk.
• Crew Neck — A plain round neckline sits flat under collared shirts, quarter-zips and jackets.
• Full-Length Sleeves — Long sleeves run to the wrist and keep your arms covered under outer layers.
• Expedition Designation — Expedition is the name Duofold gives this Varitherm model, and it marks the shirt as one for properly cold conditions.
• Neat Finished Seams — Stitched seams run along the shoulders, sleeves and sides, and the neckline and cuffs have finished edges.
• Duofold Cuff Logo — A small Duofold logo on the left cuff is the only branding on the shirt.

Build and Layering

Duofold by Champion builds this shirt from polyester and spandex, a combination meant for next-to-skin wear in the cold. Wear it as the first layer, with an insulating mid layer such as fleece over it and a wind or rain shell on top when the weather calls for one. The shirt shown is black, which goes under uniforms, work wear and hunting clothes without showing through.
