The Mil-Tec Flecktarn Cotton Rip-Stop Boonie Hat is a military-style wide-brim field hat cut to the classic US GI 1968–1971 pattern and finished in authentic German Army Flecktarn camo. The 100% cotton rip-stop shell breathes well, resists tearing, and packs flat into a cargo pocket. Four screened ventilation eyelets, an adjustable chin cord, foliage loops around the crown, and a reinforced wide brim round out the build. Flecktarn in the Wisconsin hardwoods is basically a cheat codeI bought this hat on a whim because I thought Flecktarn looked cool and holy crap does it work in the upper Midwest hardwoods. The mix of greens, browns, and black dots breaks up your outline like nothing else ive worn in a treestand. The wide brim keeps rain off my glasses and the sun out of my eyes during early morning sits. The four air vents help with airflow on those warm early season hunts when your sweating just sitting still. The cotton ripstop is quiet too no swishing or crinkling noise when you turn your head which matters when your 20 yards from a whitetail. Ive worn this thing through 2 full seasons now and its held up great, no rips, no fading, and the brim is still stiff. Customer service was helpful when I called to ask about sizing — the guy walked me through the size chart and I ended up with a perfect fit on the first try. Great hat, great price
