Description
Axes have been around for ages. And even our award-winning axes are hardly new. But the Gator Axe is a wood-bustin' breakthrough. Because we applied our proprietary Gator textured rubber to the grip for an unprecedented level of comfort and control. Beneath that tactile rubber surface is a virtually indestructible glass-filled nylon handle. And inside that handle is a hollow area containing a magnet that can hold a knife. The axe head is engineered from forged steel, which does an outstanding job of keeping its edge.

Nice for the money<span>I bought this axe because I had an Old Gerber hatchet. I have always loved my Gerber gear. Well the old one was in desperate need of being retired. It finally gave out. It took a year for me to decide to replace it. This little tool is a replacement for my small full sized tool box in the RV where I keep a saw and small axes and such. I keep a large box with larger axes, handsaw and larger multitool in my trailer and a shovel in my pickup. When I get a tool that I love and is easy to pack in and out of the back I buy two of them so I always have a back up. The little gerber hatchet has always been great. The little blade was ok. A bit hard to hold onto. This hatchet takes care of both problems. Nice little lightweight blade for most small jobs. the handle is the rubber style which I like and is comfortable in the hand. I have yet to sharpen it. The small axe head has a good working surface on it and will make short work of larger things. This has replaced a full size axe in my trailer tool box and a smaller tool. Both are heavy and difficult to get in and out of the RV so I don't use them much anymore. The only down side is the price, for the quality you do get for the money is awesome. Now that Gerber makes it in Orange I will probably get a few more. Great tool. Wish the whole line was made in the US but I still love the quality. Wish they would come out with a full sized fixed blade knife that was around 3-4 inches. Worth every penny. No reason to go to your big box or other tool stores. Check here first. For less.</span>
