Gerber Gator Combo Axe

<span>I bought this axe because I had an Old Gerber hatchet. I have always loved my Gerber gear. Well the old one was in desperate need of being retired. It finally gave out. It took a year for me to decide to replace it. This little tool is a replacement for my small full sized tool box in the RV where I keep a saw and small axes and such. I keep a large box with larger axes, handsaw and larger multitool in my trailer and a shovel in my pickup. When I get a tool that I love and is easy to pack in and out of the back I buy two of them so I always have a back up. The little gerber hatchet has always been great. The little blade was ok. A bit hard to hold onto. This hatchet takes care of both problems. Nice little lightweight blade for most small jobs. the handle is the rubber style which I like and is comfortable in the hand. I have yet to sharpen it. The small axe head has a good working surface on it and will make short work of larger things. This has replaced a full size axe in my trailer tool box and a smaller tool. Both are heavy and difficult to get in and out of the RV so I don't use them much anymore. The only down side is the price, for the quality you do get for the money is awesome. Now that Gerber makes it in Orange I will probably get a few more. Great tool. Wish the whole line was made in the US but I still love the quality. Wish they would come out with a full sized fixed blade knife that was around 3-4 inches. Worth every penny. No reason to go to your big box or other tool stores. Check here first. For less.</span>

<span>This is a great little hatchet. I bought it to use while camping and it works well. It's lightweight and has good balance. The knife comes out easily and stays put until you need it again. The handle is easy to hold onto even when wet. This thing chops through wood like butter. It's also very durable. I've used it to hammer in tent stakes as well as drive nails into a picnic table and it worked perfectly both times. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because of the knife. It doesn't stay put very well and tends to slide out if you don't keep your hands clean. Other than that though, it's a great product.</span>

<span>This is a great little axe! It’s lightweight and compact enough to carry on your belt or in your pack. I bought it for my husband as a Christmas gift. He loves camping and hiking and he has been wanting one of these axes for some time now. He loves it so much that he wants another one! The only downside to this product is that it does not come with a sheath. You have to buy one separately.</span>

<span>I love this thing! It's great to have around the house and camping trips. I use it to cut up wood for my fire pit and also for splitting wood. The knife works well too.</span>

I bought this as a gift for my son who was in Boy Scouts and it worked out great. It was very easy to use and he really liked it.
