German Duffel Lock

This is the German Army closure for a Seesack, the issue sea sack or duffel bag. The D-shaped steel ring has a removable cross pin that threads through the grommets around the bag's mouth, the metal-rimmed holes that let the opening cinch shut. Once the pin is seated and the bar swings home, the gathered mouth is held closed and the ring doubles as a carry handle.
