The German Flecktarn field shirt are in excellent condition, free from the rips, tears, stains and scents that are typically characteristic of military surplus clothing. The fact that this is a current issue field shirt just serves to sweeten the deal.
Constructed from a cotton/polyester blend (either 65/35 or 80/20 depending on the manufacturer), the German flecktarn field shirt is a well-made shirt with a variety of features designed for comfort and practicality. Snap fasteners line the full length of the front opening for easy on and off while Velcro®-adjustable cuffs ensure that the elements are kept at bay. Additionally, there are mesh vents sewn into each underarm to allow the escape of body heat, which serves to keep you dry and comfortable all day long. Then there are the other, more practical features. Those include the breast pockets, each of which measures approximately 7.25 inches by 6 inches and are secured via sturdy snap fasteners. There is also an expandable pocket on the left sleeve that measures approximately 4.5 inches by 3 inches and is located just below the German flag patch. Still not sold? How about I tell you about the fancy epaulets and the Velcro® strip for mounting name tape?
Perhaps the biggest draw is the famous Flecktarn camouflage pattern. Flecktarn is a multicolor disruptive camouflage pattern, generally utilizing three or more colors. This particular pattern was designed for use in temperate woodland terrains, though by varying the colors, it is adaptable to other backdrops.
