WarmThese blankets are amazing!
Size. Many military surplus blankets are short in length. Not this one!
Itchy. I use bamboo sheets to shield me from the itch. Bamboo sheets are softer than cotton and usually the same price.

WARM!These blankets are great! Wool has a thermoregulatory property much like down. It keeps you comfortable without getting too hot.
Natural fiber and very warm.
Itchy. This is remedied by using bamboo sheet between the wool and the sleeper. Bamboo sheets are more soft than cotton. I've using wool from Keep Shooting for years.

AmazingThese German military surplus blankets are great. Most show some wear, but not too bad. All will have some mild odor which can be removed with good wool safe wash, and tumble dry on very low. Wool is great for camping since it will keep you warm even when wet. Wool is also like down, in that it has a thermoregulatory propert. Meaning, it lets your body breath without making you get too hot.
The size. Many military wool blankets are too short. Not this one.
Wool is itchy when in direct contact with skin. This is remedied by a set of bamboo bed sheets. Bamboo sheets are softer than cotton, and get softer with each wash.
