The German Wachbataillon Dress Tunic is an authentic East German Army (NVA) parade jacket originally issued to soldiers of the elite Wachbataillon, the honor guard unit responsible for state ceremonies and the changing of the guard at the Neue Wache in East Berlin. Cut from a heavy stone-gray wool blend with a four-pocket dress front, notched lapels, and shoulder straps for rank boards, it carries all the hallmarks of classic DDR service dress. Each tunic is a genuine surplus piece of Cold War history straight from the former German Democratic Republic.
