The iProtect Protect 1207i is a handheld RF detector, a scanner that picks up radio transmissions, built to find hidden wireless devices in a room, vehicle or office. It watches six common wireless bands at once and shows which band is active and how strong the signal is. That lets you tell a GSM or 3G audio bug or GPS tracker apart from a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth device. It is meant for anyone who sweeps spaces for eavesdropping or tracking hardware and needs to know what kind of transmitter they have found, not only that something is transmitting.

• Six Detection Channels — Separate channels cover CDMA 850, GSM 900, GSM 1900/CDMA 1900, 3G and DECT, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and Wi-Max, which together span the cellular, cordless-phone and data networks most covert devices use.
• Cellular Bug And Tracker Detection — The GSM, CDMA and 3G channels watch the mobile-phone bands that SIM-based listening devices and GPS trackers use to send audio and location data.
• DECT And Wi-Fi Coverage — DECT, the digital standard used by cordless phones and some baby monitors, shares a channel with 3G, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have a channel of their own for wireless cameras and short-range devices.
• Per-Channel Signal Strength LEDs — Each band has its own column of LEDs that climbs as you get closer to the source, so you can walk a room and home in on a transmitter.
• Adjustable Attenuation — ATT+ and ATT- controls step the receiver's sensitivity down or up, and an ATT indicator shows when it is engaged, which helps you pinpoint a strong signal once you are close.
• Extra Data Display — A four-digit segment readout gives additional information alongside the LED bar graphs.
• Silent And Audible Modes — A mode selector with speaker and vibration indicators lets you switch alerts, including a silent setting for sweeping without drawing attention.
• Joystick Control — One four-way joystick handles attenuation, silent and mode functions, so the device works with one hand.
• Dual Color-Coded Antennas — Two external antennas carry blue and red rings that match the color bars above the display panel.
• Power Switch And Low Battery Light — A slide switch turns the unit on and off, and a LOW BATT indicator warns you before power runs out mid-sweep.

Layout And Handling

The 1207i fits in one hand, with a black body and a printed control panel that labels every band, button and indicator in plain text. The band labels sit directly above their LED columns, so you can read the panel at a glance during a sweep without checking a manual. Front markings state what it is for: locating Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices, and detecting GSM/3G bugs and trackers.
