8-Round 1911 Magazine

The KCI 1911 Magazine is an 8-round .45 ACP magazine for full-size 1911 Government pattern pistols and the many clones built to the same pattern. It holds one more round than the traditional 7-round 1911 magazine. Shooters buy it as a spare for the range bag, a backup to the factory magazine, or extra capacity for practice and match days.

Features

• .45 ACP Chambering — Built for .45 ACP, the large-bore pistol cartridge the 1911 was originally designed around, and marked "45ACP" on the body.
• 8-Round Capacity — Holds eight rounds, and the body is stamped "8RDS" so you can tell it apart from 7-round magazines in a mixed pile.
• Steel Body — The magazine tube is formed from steel, the same material the 1911 design has always relied on for feed lip strength.
• Numbered Witness Holes — Holes on both sides, numbered 2 through 8, show how many rounds are loaded without emptying the magazine.
• Steel And Polymer Follower — The follower, the platform that pushes cartridges up toward the chamber, combines reinforced steel and polymer.
• High-Tensile Steel Spring — A steel wire spring with high tensile strength drives the follower and feeds each round in turn.
• Polymer Floor Plate — The black polymer base pad caps the bottom of the magazine and gives your hand something to grab when stripping or seating it.
• Matte Black Electroplate Finish — An electroplated coating, applied by bonding a thin metal layer to the steel, gives a low-glare black surface.

Fit And Construction

KCI USA sizes this magazine for full-size 1911 Government pattern pistols, the standard frame length most 1911s are built on, and for similar clones. It is not intended for compact or Officer-size frames with shorter grips. The magazine catch slot is cut into the spine in the usual 1911 position, and the extended polymer floor plate sits just below the grip when the magazine is seated.
