Description
Waterborne Recon Boot
The LALO BUD/S Hydro Recon is a rapid-response waterborne boot, designed around the way special operations forces (SOF) work: moving in and out of the water, then straight onto mixed terrain without stopping to change footwear. It combines a light neoprene upper that tolerates being soaked with a drained, cushioned sole that grips on land. The Jungle colorway is olive green over black.
Features
- Insulated 1.0 mm Neoprene Upper — The upper is lightweight neoprene, the same stretchy, insulating rubber foam used in wetsuits, so it holds some warmth even when wet.
- Medial Side Zipper — A full-height zipper on the inside of the boot opens it wide so you can get your foot in and out quickly.
- Finger Loop — A pull loop at the heel gives you something to grab when pulling the boot on.
- Stability Wrap — A strap wraps the mid-foot to lock the boot down and add support across the instep.
- SuperFabric Toecap — The toe is covered in a fabric overlay studded with tiny flexible armor plates that resist abrasion and protect the front of the foot.
- EVA Heel Counter — A molded EVA foam cup at the heel holds the foot in place for stability and a secure fit.
- Anatomical Cuff — The collar is shaped to follow the ankle so it moves with you rather than digging in.
- Perforated Midsole — Drainage holes in the midsole let water run out of the boot once you are back on dry ground.
- Cleaver Pattern Traction Pods — Rubber outsole pods carry a distinctive studded tread pattern for added grip on wet and uneven surfaces.
- Cushioned EVA Outsole With Stability Arch — A cushioned EVA base absorbs impact, and a built-in arch adds support under the mid-foot.
Construction And Fit
LALO builds the Hydro Recon as a hybrid of dive bootie and trail shoe. The neoprene sock forms the inner shell, a structured olive overlay and mid-foot strap give it shape and support, and the EVA heel counter keeps the heel from sliding. Underneath, the perforated midsole and segmented rubber pods are designed to shed water and keep their grip on rock, sand and slick decks.
