The Lansky Blade Medic puts four sharpening surfaces in one tool that fits in a pocket, so a dull or rolled edge can be fixed where you are using the knife instead of back at the bench. It handles plain and serrated blades, gut hooks, and hunting and fishing knives. Hunters, anglers, campers and anyone who carries a working knife daily will get the most use from it.

• Tungsten Carbide Slot — A preset V-notch of very hard carbide shaves a fresh edge onto a dull blade in three to four pulls.
• 1000-Grit Ceramic Slot — A fine ceramic notch (the higher the grit number, the finer the finish) hones and polishes the edge in three to four strokes after the carbide.
• 600-Grit Diamond Tapered Rod — A monocrystalline diamond-coated rod folds out from the body and quickly reconditions badly worn edges.
• Tapered Rod Profile — The rod narrows toward the tip so it fits into individual serrations and the curve of a gut hook.
• Serrated Ceramic Edge — A flat ceramic surface along the top lets you touch up serrated blades and larger edges by hand.
• Compact 3.9-Inch Body — The tool measures 3.9 in (99 mm) long and 1.25 in (32 mm) tall, small enough for a pocket, pack lid or tackle box.
• Lanyard Hole — A hole in the rounded end takes a cord or split ring for hanging the sharpener from a pack or keychain.
• Textured Black Finish — The pebbled body surface gives a secure grip, and each sharpening element is labeled on the side.

How Each Stage Works

Start in the carbide slot to set the edge on a dull blade, then finish in the ceramic slot for a cleaner, sharper result. Use the diamond rod for edges that need more metal removed, and for serrations and gut hooks that a flat slot cannot reach. The serrated ceramic surface covers the remaining touch-ups, so a single tool covers most blade types you are likely to carry. Lansky lists this model as the Tactical Blade Medic, PSMED01.
