Mec-Gar 1911 10mm Magazine

This is an 8-round replacement or spare magazine for full-size 1911 pistols chambered in 10mm Auto, made by Mec-Gar in Italy. It fits Government and Commander models, the two 1911 patterns that share the full-length grip frame. Use it to add capacity for range days, keep a reload on the belt for field carry, or replace a tired factory magazine that no longer feeds reliably.

• 10mm Auto Caliber — The tube is marked "10 MM" near the base and is sized for 10mm Auto cartridges.

• Heat-Treated Carbon Steel Tube — The body is carbon steel hardened by heat treatment, so the feed lips that guide each round into the chamber hold their shape after repeated loading.
• Blued Finish — A chemical blackening process gives the steel a deep black surface and some protection against rust.
• Music Wire Spring — The spring is wound from high-tensile music wire, a hard steel wire that keeps its tension through long compression.

Build and Fit

Every major part, including the tube, follower and baseplate, is steel, with a cut-out catch slot on the side for the pistol's magazine release. The magazine is made for full-size 1911 frames, meaning Government and Commander models in 10mm Auto. Shorter-grip Officer-size pistols and 1911s in other calibers need a different magazine.
