The Metropolitan Police Blue Gore-Tex Parka is an authentic wet weather parka from the London Metropolitan Police. These jackets were originally produced in the UK for use by these officers, who needed a high performance wet weather jacket for dealing with both rain and snow. This jacket was the design chosen as it is made to be water resistant and breathable, with a mesh liner for extra comfort for use in the rain during warm weather.
Since these parkas were designed for police officers, they have a number of features worth mentioning. The first would be the number of pockets, of which there are four on the front of the jacket that are velcro sealed. There is one hidden chest pocket that is zippered that is hidden beneath the storm flap when you have the jacket zipped up and the storm flap in place. You will find the pockets are more than enough space to hold your every day carry items safely and securely. On the lower left and right side of the jacket there are zippered quick access openings, allowing you to retrieve a gun or handcuffs on your belt.

Looks New. Get the hood. You won't regret it. Nothing not to like
This is a very well made jacket. It has a heavy duty zipper, full length Velcro to seal the storm flap, and wrist cuffs on the inside of the sleeves. The pockets are the type that folds the top of the opening over to seal off the pocket well. There are no hand warmer pockets. The collar is the great British design that protects the back of the neck well when up. This will be a great jacket for heavy rain. The only thing that makes this looks slightly different than an American jacket is the epaulets on the shoulders. Overall, high quality for a great price.
I am 5' 6" with a 42" chest. It fits me pretty well .The label in the large I ordered says it fits anyone 5' to 6' 4" with a chest of 40" to 44". The net lining is fine for warmer weather, but I plan to wear a fleece jacket under it in the winter.
The jacket is parka length on me so if you are much over 6' expect it to be about hip length on you. I'm very pleased with mine.
