The Mil-Tec Wet Weather Poncho is a hooded rain poncho that goes on over whatever you are wearing, pack included, and keeps the rain off without trapping you in a fitted jacket. When you stop moving, it comes off and becomes a tarp, a ground sheet or a basic shelter. It suits hikers, hunters, campers and anyone building a bug-out or vehicle kit who wants one light item to cover both rain gear and emergency cover. This version is printed in digital woodland camo, a pixelated green, brown and black pattern meant to blend into forest and brush.

Features

• Ripstop Polyester Shell — The polyester is woven with a reinforcing grid so a small snag or puncture cannot run into a long tear.
• PVC Waterproof Coating — A polyvinyl chloride layer on the fabric blocks water from passing through, so the poncho stays waterproof rather than just water resistant.
• 5,000 mm Waterproof Rating — The fabric holds back a 5,000 mm column of water in testing, which covers steady, sustained rain.
• Adjustable Drawcord Hood — A cord at the face opening cinches the hood down so wind cannot push rain in around your head.
• Six Brass Eyelets — Metal-reinforced holes at the edges and corners take cord or stakes when you rig the poncho as a tarp or shelter.
• Press-Stud Side Snaps — Snaps along the sides close the poncho around your body when worn and open it out flat when you need a sheet.

Shelter And Ground Sheet

Unsnapped and laid flat, the poncho is an 83 x 59 inch sheet of coated ripstop with tie points at the eyelets. String it between two trees as a rain fly, pitch it low as a bivouac (a minimal overnight shelter), or put it under your sleeping bag to keep ground moisture out. It is sized to give two people basic cover from rain. Mil-Tec builds it as a commercial piece of field gear in the pattern of a military poncho, so it carries the same hood, snaps and eyelets that make the issue design so useful.
