These two stores are not the only retail outlets that carry paracord bracelets, they have become so popular that even Target and Walmart carry them. This popularity and demand can be attributed to the look of a paracord bracelet as well as the versatility of the paracord that is used to construct it.

Paracord is a shortened method of describing what the original use for 550 Paracord was and still is, parachute cord. The specification for paracord requires it to be able to support a full weight canopy that our soldiers use when jumping out of air craft. Inside the sheath of a length of paracord are between 7 and 9 strands that make up the paracord and are responsible for giving paracord the strength and carrying weight.
