The OKC RAT Model 1 Folding Knife is a knife designed by Randall's Adventure Training as part of a long running collaboration with Ontario Knife Company. Capable of withstanding hard use and abuse the RAT-1 will excel as your everyday carry knife.
For $30 you can’t go wrong. Built like a rock and solid feel in the hand. Nice thin blade profile that’s sharp and holds an edge. If you need a thin knife that will work and be easy to carry around, this would be a good choice.

Just perfect, so so great

One thing about an expensive knife, for some reason people like others, think it's an expensive whittling toy or a box opener. This is a tool. Buy the proper size to do the job at hand and stop wasting good money. The media could not be loaded. An AMAZING little piece of knife making, the knife has been put through a few serious use trials and has come out of it perfect. Even a knife sharpening with use it has held it's edges and cut perfectly with out rolling or slicing as a cutlass would. My usual knife goes through at least one sharpening a week and this has only needed one so far. Not sure how long it will last, only time will tell. But this knife is absolutely a buy. Even better then a SOL I will most definitely be getting a back up to this. I do a lot of different cutting and batoning with my knives and this does it well. The lock up is very solid, no wobble and opens and closes as it should. It has an amazing action and feel to it.

Fantastic! Excellent fit and finish.
Review byKeepshooting Customer
I am very impressed with this knife. Fit and finish is excellent, all machining is smooth and clean, the knife feels solid and is very well balanced. This is not an aggressive folder but the Veff fit is really impressive. It came out of the box shaving sharp. Overall, it is everything I was hoping for and I would definitely recommend this knife to anyone.

I've used this knife for over a year now. I work in a butcher shop and have put this knife through hell. Cuts, splits everything. Stays sharp and the action is smooth and consistent. I love this knife.

Rat model 1 99982
Review byKeepshooting Customer
The product I got came from Columbia Knife which does have a reputation for a long period for quality made products at an affordable cost, but don't get me wrong I know Ontario products as well from the fact that they used to be produced in one of my home towns and some family members worked for one or two of the plants over there so when my great grand father bought a brand new hunting and skinning tool knife back in 1956 and then my uncle upgraded his from a k-bar I know that knife came from Ontairo, from them to someone from Ontario then down to my uncle. But this particular knife is in fact of decent size for a 3 in hand 4 foot open everyday field knife and I don't know how to give more credit for the blade, it does seem to be the original product not any clone from any copy and with what ever it says being for it's purpose which this seems very versatile to and I will take the opinions that some say and will be checking the sharpeness and may put some parking as some would say of other model and I will check for any dents or dings as they also say and I have been working and I still continue my training in maintaince and there isn't a shop that doesn't look for those dings and what some call manufacturing defects. It's all on the customer and yes as others say the auto shut feature and they seem to go away or forget it as time passes which is my understanding and it can open with ease one handed and a two finger closing mechanism that I haven't yet had the chance to do as that's my backup method and is easy if done so or from your hip, you can close with ease with that knife in a sheath on your belt or as I prefer to carry it and this of all things this can take more stress then some knives of course because it is one solid piece of metal and the handle well ofcourse has the smooth portion of the handle on top with serrations at the bottom on both top portion which helps for making the blade more aggressive and if this wasn't there then there is no need to be doing such and you can easily snap the knife if you get careless or even in haste with no experience

For 30 bucks a decent knife
Review byAubry E.
Picked up two for a trip to put in checked luggage for the throwers to take. Spent 15 minutes on each filing down some sharp edges. Blade is not ground evenly as mentioned by others, bevel is off. Opens smoothly and locks tight. A decent chinee knife, would have paid more for USA made.

Solid knife
Review byKenward O.
There’s nothing fancy or pretty about this knife, but you can just tell it’s solid as heck and razor sharp! It’s a bit big for edc but that’s what I got the smaller Rat2 for… this Rat1 is going to be for camping/hiking and stuff like that where the bigger knives are handy, and I’m sure it can take any abuse I can dish out… very satisfied with it.

RAT 1 and 2 are both great pocket knives. Extremely well made, with a functional design, and a great price point. These knives are durable, look great and are affordable enough to own several spares.

Reliable EDC knife for a small price
Review byDante M.
I have dozens of various knives- but this one is my favorite for now. Nice office EDC knife. Very well-manufactured, relatively lightweight, clip with the usual pressure force (you don't pull out your jeans when you pull out the knife). Comfy handle for my xl hand. I need a bit of time to train the quick opening, but this isn't critical for an ordinary office.
This knife is one of the rare things on the Chinazone that really worth the price.

High Quality--Low Price--Get One!!
Review byShanieka J.
The Rat 1 is probably one of the finest tactical folders you can buy for $30! I have 5 of them including a first production model. These Rat 1 knives come razor sharp with blades lined up perfectly and snap open with a little flick of the stud! The nylon handles are nice and smooth and you can get the Rat in a number of handle colors. I like the serrated blade option too. I have folders that cost 4 times as much as the Rat 1 and this is my favorite EDC knife! If I lose one it is no big deal. I pack a Rat 1 in my checked bag when flying too! If you want a smaller folder try the Rat 2. Same high quality Ontario knife!

I love my Rat 1. I have been carrying it every day for a couple of months now. Good Smooth Action, stays reasonably sharp and is always easy to open. The Steel is decent quality and easy to sharpen. You really can't go wrong for the price. I have more expensive knives that I like a lot less than this one.

For the price, you cannot go wrong with this knife. You won't mind cutting open boxes or any other task with this inexpensive little feller. The only complaint I have is that the pocket clip could sit a little deeper. Other than that, no issues at all. Buy one...

Good knife if you can get it for $25, otherwise get a D2 model!
Review byJailen B.
It’s a cool knife, when it’s only $25. For Aus8 I liked it for the price but it doesn’t stay sharp for more than a day or so I bought a sharpener and enjoy sharpening it, the action of sharpening it, idk it’s an ego boost forsure hahha. But my wife’s uncle got married and punked me for my knife at his after party.. I just told him to keep it as a wedding gift. I only paid 25 for it. But now I see they are going for $31, I passed on that price point for another 9 bucks you can get the D2. Thanks for raising the price tho because I wouldn’t have looked elsewhere as I got lucky and bought display D2 model with cf scales for $17 muahhahahahahah!

Review byLemont Z.
An instant classic, even compared to it's many competitors the design & functionality are first class. I do own quite a few pocket knives of various designs & cost, The RAT-1 (designed for Randall Adventure Tours) is intelligent & well thought out, along with also being quite durable. The blade has a confident snap when the liner lock engages, the handle is comfortable, & steel is acceptable though not high performance. A very good EDC without any thoughts of carrying an expensive blade that could get lost or damaged in use.
