Description
55 Grain FMJ Range Ammo
Remington UMC 223 Remington is a 55 grain full metal jacket load built for practice, target work and plinking, the casual shooting at cans and steel that burns through a lot of ammunition. It is a common choice for AR-15 owners and bolt-action shooters who want consistent factory rounds for training without spending premium-load money on every trigger pull. Each box holds 20 cartridges.
Features
- 223 Remington Caliber — Chambered for rifles marked .223 Remington, and it can also be fired in rifles chambered for 5.56 NATO, the military version of the cartridge.
- 55 Grain Bullet — The 55 grain weight is the standard projectile for this cartridge and the one most rifles are sighted in with.
- Full Metal Jacket — A copper jacket wraps the lead core so the bullet holds its shape, feeds smoothly and leaves less lead fouling in the bore.
- 3,240 FPS Muzzle Velocity — The bullet leaves the muzzle at 3,240 feet per second with 1,282 foot-pounds of energy.
- .202 Ballistic Coefficient — Ballistic coefficient measures how well a bullet resists air drag, and this figure lets you plug the load into a ballistic calculator for holdover at distance.
- Reloadable Brass Cases — The boxer-style brass cases can be collected after a session and reloaded by handloaders.
- Non-Corrosive Primers — The primers leave no corrosive salts in the barrel, so normal cleaning is all the rifle needs after shooting.
- Loaded In The USA — Remington loads UMC ammunition in the United States, as printed on the box.
- 20 Round Box — Cartridges come in a compact cardboard box labeled with caliber, bullet weight and type on the end flap.
Fit And Performance
Use this load in any firearm chambered for .223 Remington, including AR-15 rifles, bolt-action varmint rifles and many pistols built on the AR platform. Rifles chambered for 5.56 NATO accept .223 Remington safely, but the reverse is not recommended, so check the marking on your barrel. Remington labels UMC for target and plinking use. An FMJ bullet is meant for paper and steel rather than hunting.
