Winchester M855 SS109 5.56 Ammo Range Pack

M855 Green Tip 5.56mm

This is Winchester's M855 loading of 5.56mm, the 62-grain green tip round also known by its NATO designation, SS109. It comes 200 rounds to a box, a quantity sized for range days, carbine courses and keeping a stock on hand for the rifle you train with. AR-15 owners and other 5.56 NATO rifle shooters buy it when they want a military-pattern load at volume.

Features

• 5.56mm Cartridge — Loaded for rifles chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, the standard chambering for most AR-15 pattern rifles.
• 62 Grain Bullet — Grain is the unit used to weigh bullets, and 62 grains is the M855/SS109 standard weight.
• 3,060 FPS Rated Velocity — Winchester lists a muzzle velocity of 3,060 feet per second on the box.
• Full Metal Jacket — A copper-colored jacket encloses the bullet so it feeds cleanly and does not foul the bore with exposed lead.
• M855 Green Tip — The painted green tip is the military identifier for the M855 pattern, which uses a steel penetrator in the nose of the bullet.
• Brass Cases — Each round is loaded in a brass case, as the photographs show.
• 200 Round Range Pack — A single cardboard carton holds 200 rounds, enough for a full day of drills.
• Made In USA — The carton is marked Made in USA and carries Olin Winchester branding.

Fit and Range Use

Use this ammunition in firearms chambered for 5.56 NATO. Winchester labels the box for target shooting. Because M855 bullets carry a steel penetrator, some indoor ranges and steel-target bays do not allow them, so check your range rules before you bring a box along.
