Factory Mini-30 Magazine

This is Ruger's own 20-round magazine for the Mini-30 rifle in 7.62x39mm. It is a factory OEM part, meaning it comes from the company that builds the rifle rather than an aftermarket maker working to its own idea of the dimensions. Mini-30 owners use it as a spare or replacement when they want a magazine designed alongside the gun. It also fits the Ruger American Rifle Ranch chambered in 7.62x39mm.

Features

• 20-Round Capacity — The magazine holds 20 cartridges of 7.62x39mm, the same round used in the SKS and AK family of rifles.
• Blued Steel Body — The body is formed from steel and finished with bluing, a chemical treatment that darkens the metal and gives it some resistance to rust.
• Ribbed Curved Profile — Pressed ribs run the length of the curved body to stiffen the walls, and the curve follows the taper of the 7.62x39mm case so rounds stack and feed cleanly.
• Precision Feed Lips — The formed edges at the top of the magazine hold the top round in place and present it to the bolt at the right angle as it cycles.
• Witness Holes — Holes on the sides let you see roughly how many rounds are loaded without emptying the magazine.
• Steel Wire Spring — A high-tensile steel wire spring pushes the stack of rounds upward toward the feed lips.
• Polymer Follower — An injection-molded polymer follower, the plate that sits under the bottom round, rides on the spring and keeps the stack level.

Fit And Construction

The magazine is built for the Ruger Mini-30 and the Ruger American Rifle Ranch in 7.62x39mm. It will not fit the Mini-14, which takes .223/5.56 magazines with a different body. Construction is all steel apart from the polymer follower, with a black blued finish throughout.
