Cotton Desert Shemagh

The Rothco Shemagh is a square cotton scarf in the style worn across the Middle East for protection from sun, wind and blowing sand. Soldiers, hunters, hikers and range shooters wear it as a neck wrap, face cover or head scarf, and it folds small enough to stay in a pack until the weather turns. How It Is Made And Worn

Rothco weaves this shemagh from cotton, the traditional fiber for the style because it breathes in hot weather and adds a layer of warmth in cold wind. The square shape is the point: folded corner to corner into a triangle, it can be wrapped as a head covering with a tail across the face, or simply knotted at the neck. Away from the field, it also works as an ordinary scarf.
