FX Training Throat Guard

The FX9000 is a throat protector from the Simunition FX system, the gear used in force-on-force training, where people train against live role players using FX marking cartridges. These are non-lethal rounds that leave a paint mark on a hit. A shot to the throat can do real damage even with a marking round, so the FX9000 wraps the front of the neck with a padded, curved shield. This example is US Army issue, the same piece of kit trainees wear in shoot house and scenario drills.

• Part Of Mandatory FX Kit — The warning label calls for approved FX head, throat and groin protection whenever FX marking cartridges are in use, and this is the throat component.
• HDPE And Neoprene Insert — The interlining pairs HDPE, a stiff high-density polyethylene plastic, with sponge neoprene, so the plastic spreads an impact while the foam softens it.
• Contoured Front Shield — A curved, bib-like panel drops below the band to cover the windpipe and the base of the neck.

Build And Labeling

Every specification here comes off the sewn-in labels: style 8971761, polyester shell, cotton-blend lining, an HDPE and neoprene insert, and a Canadian origin marking from Simunition. A red FX tab on the top edge identifies it as FX system gear. Because it is genuine issued equipment rather than an aftermarket substitute, it suits units and ranges running FX scenarios, collectors of military training gear, and anyone completing an FX protective set.
