Simunitions FX9000 Protective Mask

Force-on-Force Face Guard

The Simunitions FX9000 is a full-face protective mask built for force-on-force training, where participants fire marking cartridges (non-lethal rounds that leave a colored mark) at each other. It covers the eyes, face, jaw and the sides of the head, the areas most exposed during close-range scenario drills. This one is US Army issue, the same pattern used in military training. It suits collectors of issued training gear and anyone outfitting for scenario-based practice.

Features

• Clear Goggle-Style Lens — A wide, clear lens in a black frame sits close to the face and leaves a broad field of view.
• Polymer Lower Face Guard — A molded polymer shell covers the mouth and jaw, with slotted vents along the front for breathing.
• Knit Head Shroud — Black knit fabric wraps over the top of the lens and down both sides of the head to cover the temples, ears and cheeks.
• Hook-And-Loop Closures — Velcro-style panels inside the side flaps let you close the shroud snugly around the back of the head.
• Adjustable Elastic Strap — A wide elastic headband with metal slider buckles adjusts for head size and holds the lens in place.
• Mesh Ventilation Panel — An open mesh band above the jaw guard lets air move behind the mask.
• Snap-Fastened Fabric — Snaps secure the knit covering around the lens frame and nose area.
• FX Branded Hardware — The headband carries red FX lettering, identifying it as part of the Simunition FX training system.

US Army Issue

This FX9000 was issued for US Army training, which makes it the genuine article rather than a commercial lookalike. The design pairs a rigid polymer face section with a soft knit shroud, so the hard parts protect the face while the fabric covers the sides of the head without adding much weight. Everything is black, with the red FX branding on the strap as the only color.
