These Rothco shorts follow the BDU pattern. BDU stands for Battle Dress Uniform, the classic military field cut built around large cargo pockets. They are made for warm-weather days when you still want to carry gear in your pockets instead of a bag. The subdued urban digital camo mixes tan, gray and black pixels, so it reads muted rather than loud, and it works as well at the range or on a trail as it does around town.

Fabric And Fit

Rothco cuts these shorts with a loose fit, which leaves room to move and to fill the cargo pockets without the fabric pulling tight across the thigh. On the model they finish just above the knee. These are commercial-made shorts built on the military BDU pattern, not government-issue surplus, so expect a consistent new-production fit and finish.
