Modern casualty care gear worth having in the kitOrdered this orange one mostly out of curiosity I've been collecting IFAK components and first aid gear for years, and it's interesting to see how trauma response has evolved since my time in the field back in the day. The SWAT-T was developed by a former USAF PJ with actual operational medicine experience, which gives it credibility. What impresses me is the simplicity of design: no windlass rod, no complex ratchet mechanism, just polyisoprene elastomer and that clever diamond indicator printed right on the material. Made in USA according to the packaging. You can apply this to areas a rigid tourniquet can't reach the groin, armpit, torso which is genuinely useful for trauma scenarios we didn't have good tools for decades ago. The stretch-wrap-tuck method is documented and tested. I've got two of these now in my collection of modern vs. legacy medical gear, stored properly with a humidity pack.

Affordable tourniquet that really works, shipped fastI carry concealed daily and wanted a tourniquet that would actually fit in my everyday carry bag without taking up a ton of space. This SWAT-T is perfect for that. It is so much smaller and lighter than the standard windlass tourniquets that I could never justify stuffing into my purse. I ordered two on a Monday and they arrived by Thursday. The instructions printed right on the band give me confidence that even if someone else had to use it on me they could figure it out immediately.
