Taurus International Manufacturing, Inc. has an interesting history. It began in 1939, when a small tool and die company was founded in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The company began by producing small tools designed for use in manufacturing processes. In the years that followed, the company branched out to include divisions focused on metals manufacturing, plastics, body armor and, most importantly, firearms. That company is Forjas Taurus, what we commonly refer to as Taurus International. Since its inception, Taurus has had ties to both Smith & Wesson and Beretta, which allowed the company access to information related to the design, manufacture and tooling of some of the world's most popular pistols – including Beretta's 92 series. Since then the company has learned a thing or two and is now one of the largest manufacturers of small arms in the world.
Today, Taurus International offers a wide range of products from revolvers to both steel- and polymer-framed pistols. The company seeks to bolster their lineup with the new Taurus Millennium PRO 9mm, a pistol whose design was based around the crisp action provided by the unique double-action/single-action trigger mechanism originally exhibited in the Taurus PT 24/7. As if that were not enough to grab your attention, perhaps its reliability, ease-of-use and safety features will have you considering it for concealed carry.
When it comes to concealed carry, safety is a big concern. While some pistols overdo it, others fall quite short. The Taurus Millennium PRO 9mm, however, nails it. With a mix of active and passive safeties that include a loaded chamber indicator, a trigger safety, a thumb safety and Taurus' patented integral security system, the Millennium PRO ensures that discharges will only occur when you deliberately pull the trigger. Having said that, let us check out a few of the Millennium PRO's other features.
The Taurus Millennium PRO 9mm features a 3.25-inch barrel and an overall length of 6.125 inches. The stainless steel slides combines with the polymer frame for a pistol that weighs in at just 18.7 ounces. At just over one pound, this is one pistol that is mighty concealable and manageable by just about anyone. As noted, the slide boasts a stainless finish that protects against rust and corrosion. A big draw, however, is the inclusion of Heine® Straight Eight™ sights, which provides for rapid target acquisition with its dot-over-dot sighting system. Other features include a checkered polymer grip, posi-traction slide serrations and the integral security system. As noted, each pistol includes two 12-round magazines.
Best of all, the Taurus Millennium PRO 9mm comes with the Taurus Unlimited Lifetime Repair Policy. Taurus International has pledged to repair, free of charge, any firearm manufactured or imported by the company. For details, visit the official website of Taurus International.
Next time you hear the word millennium, you will think Taurus International thanks to their wonderful Taurus Millennium PRO 9mm. Consider this pistol for:
- Personal protection and concealed carry
- Target shooting
- Much more…

After handling and shooting all the competitors guns in this class, the Taurus was flawless in finish and fitment and I love the weight compared to the others. It fits nicely into my vest pocket holster and fanny pack holster and will be a pleasure to carry outside of MD as I travel. Had a problem with mag release after 400 rds but Taurus fixed it free with Lifetime Warranty and it functions flawlessly. You cant beat the quality and value.
This was my first gun and the BEST value and quality for my money as I looked at, handled, and shot all the major competitors mid compact guns. This one was solidly built, didnt make a noise if you shook it whereas some of the bigger names did...and were hundreds of dollars more! Had a minor problem with the mag release after 500 rds but Taurus fixed it free with the Lifetime Warranty. Since then its been flawless and great shooting. I have my 35 state carry permit and plan to do so when out of MD.
This gun and a S&W 642 go with me almost everywhere. I want a reliable gun but if something would happen it is not one of my expensive guns that I PROBABLY WOULD NOT GET BACK.
