the netting around the head area isn't as good as i would have liked, but it's not bad. there is plenty of material to tie around your head if you need to. i like the style. not to fat, or small. just a good fit. brim is about the right size. i wear a size 7.75 and the fit is a good fit for me. i wear glasses and they don't hit the brim when i tip my head back, like the smaller boonies can do. would recommend.

Very good hat for gardening. Protects your face and neck from the sun, without making you hot and sweaty. It's got a chin strap, which is helpful. This is not an "urban camo" pattern - I got the Desert Tan color. The other color choices are US Army Digital Camo, Marpat, Olive Drab, and ACU Digital Camo. This tan color does look like it would blend in well with the tan colors of some desert areas, like the US Southwest or the Sahara Desert. This Rothco Boonie Hat has all the right features, including the cotton sweatband, with mesh. The mesh keeps your head cooler than the solid cotton. However, you can't see through the mesh to your forehead, like you can with many cheaper hats. And unlike a number of cheaper hat manufacturers, Rothco's stitching is pretty strong.
