This is a keeper. Dintex is durable. No different from gortex.
Review by Candle M.
Very breathable. Ventilation is good. I'm a big guy. 3X fits perfect. With liner on top of my shirt and I still had room. Let me admit that this should be issued out to soldiers.

Good jacket

The collar is a little to tall. Nice jacket otherwise. I got the liner from another vendor and now it’s perfect. Except for the collar.

Its barely a coat, it feels like your wearing a plastic tent
Review by Modesta K.
This is a horrible jacket, its thin plastic, has no liner, and seems to be designed for a 400lbs man not someone in fighting shape.

Excellent Parka

I am 75 and have had rain gear made by top suppliers in the past. As a trapper who spends many hours in rain and set snow , I find this gear superb. The parks and pants combo goes beyond my expectations.

Great Rain Jacket!!
Review by Danie X.
This is a great rain jacket that I am super happy to have it. A few of the features that I want to mention to viewers that I did not see in the description and in other reviews when I was researching this item. 1) The big pockets on the front open from the top and it has a flap to close it and keep the rain out, and it also has a side pocket entry to put your hand in to keep your hands warm or dry. 2) There are two chest pockets that will hold your phone or small maps that also zips shut. 3) There are air vent zippers under each armpit area that unzips about 8 inches to allow your armpits to get air to them. To me this is the best feature about this jacket. 4) The jacket is heavy duty and very well made. 5) This jacket alone is not a cold weather jacket, it is more like a waterproof shell to keep you dry. It is made to have insulating layers worn under it to keep you warm. I have worn this jacket in overcast days in 45-60 degree weather and did fine with just a light shirt.

Cons: 1) This jacket in not very breathable, but unzipping the front and zippers in the armpits will allow you to regulate your temperature. But anything that is 100% waterproof will have the same effect. 2) This jacket is noisy when I first got it. To break it in I put it in my dry for 60 minutes with 3 pairs of tennis shoes and NO HEAT and this helped to break it in faster and eliminated most of the noise and took the stiffness out. This is not a jacket I would recommend for a bowhunter, but for any other type of hunting it will work just fine. I turkey hunt and deer hunt, so this jacket will work great.

Overall, this is a great jacket and sheds the rain great. There are 8 pockets total, so you have plenty of places to put your extra gear. The jacket is very sturdy and well make with good craftsmanship, so I can see why there are military personnel using this jacket.

Got everything right but the logo
Review by Onesimus L.
Recently bought straight from the TruSpec website and just received the multicam version of this jacket. It's very well built, durable and comfortable. Additionally, the fleece liner fits in with ease. However, I noticed the company logo on the back in white stitching, which on the multicam pattern sticks out like a sore thumb. You can't see it on the website photo as the hood is covering it. On the surface, it looks to meet uniform standards, with the camo pattern, flap for rank insignia, and even the "Gunny" in the advertisement. But it doesn't. Be sure to do some research as nowhere do they claim to confirm to military specs.

To the manufacturer, if you truly want to market this product, especially the ones with camo pattern, to military personnel, get rid of the external logo. Would've been 5/5, but due to the unexpected placement of the logo and inability to wear with the OCP, I give this product 2/5 stars.

Great general use parka.
Review by Keiya N.
A little big around the neck; but this design seems to be the way the military is going with having hoods rolled up and stowed if not in use. Otherwise, a great jacket with a great fit.

Better Than MIL Spec
Review by Detta X.
Well made and if you get the Tru-Spec fleece liner, it zipps and snaps in! So much better than the issue ECWCS system. It is so nice being able to don and doff the liner and parka all a one time. Outside of that, everything looks and functions just like an issued parka.

Military Clothing cannot compete
Review by Jennel Z.
This Parka is the clothing I required for the new OCP uniform. The only situation I have with this item is the TS embroidered identifier in the back under the hood. Only a CSM/SGM will identify it and call you out.

Has logo, but easy fix
Review by Jene J.
Yes, it does have a logo, which does violate USA uniform policy, but it was an easy fix. All I had to do was use one of my old multicam patch kits. Just cut a piece off and stick it right on the visible logo and wall-la!. I gave it a 3 rating due to that, and the fact that I like Gortex jacket better.

Simply Ok
Review by Thida C.
4 stars for fait attempt at tru spec version of Gortex. Has all the zippers and pockets in right places, waterproof and lighter and slightly thinner than original (1st generation) Gore tex parka issued by US Army. This Parka top however, is quite a bit larger than needed for multiple layering to be worn underneath, and its hood is so large that even with a Kevlar helmet, its still too large such that it drapes over face obstructing frontal view. In terms of oversizing, thats not such a deal breaker so this jacket will be retained. If purchasing the trouser version, it made no sense that tru spec would size it too small, preventing its use as an outer layer because putting on silkies and fleece trousers would make it too tight. Overall, im quite disppointed with this tru spec for said charactaristics. Furthermore, this top, although taped at seams, has no full liner underneath. This liner helps to creat a slippery layer which enhances ease of movement and also serves to peotect the taped seams. As i see it. If one is carrying a heavy load like a Ranger Ruck, those taped seams will separate. You see, the original USGI goretex came with a fill liner and mine is still holding up well, and has endured multiple deployements as an Infantry officer. Overall, i believe that for this product, it is overpriced and a better alternative is to purchase original is sue goretex, gen 1-gen3. Im returning the bottom and i would do same for top had return window were still available.

Not the best but OK for the $
Review by Perry B.
Wears VERY large, lining is not a great color. I draw stares wearing it on post, but in the SOF community I can get away with having a jaket that doesn't match all the other ones. Needs a liner (not included) for colder weather.

Not for uniform wear.
Review by Lajean T.
For those of you in the military looking for cold weather gear for your new uniform, skip this one. It looks like an ECWS parka, but it is actually nothing more than a wet-weather top. It's got the same design, same pockets, etc., but this isn't an ECWS equivalent parka by any stretch of the imagination. It's a straight nylon outer layer with a polyester liner, and nothing in between. In addition, there's a Tru-Spec logo embroidered on the back just below the collar, making it illegal to wear in uniform without removing or hiding the logo.

Highly reccomend this to anyone wanting/needing a new weatherproof parka.
Review by Biko C.
I love this parka! The only downside to it is that the inner zippers for combining a fleece liner to it are too small to use my issue gen 3 liner. Granted this is a Gen 2 parka, and they are also made by different companies, but I've been unable to even find a liner for it that is for sale so far. Anyways, enough about the liner problems. The parka is very well built looking and feeling. The only issue I have with it other than the liner zippers, is the pull cord at the top (for around your head/face, is placed right in the back of your neck. That's not a good place for it in my honest opinion. I do however recommend this to anyone, it's a great parka. And it does what it's supposed to do, keep out the wind and rain... Now that I have had a chance to get the liner that is made for this parka, I give it 5 stars. I highly recommend this to anyone!
