The Tru-Spec H2O-Proof Gen2 ECWCS Parka is the outer shell you put on when rain, sleet or wind would soak through everything else. It is modeled on the second-generation Extended Cold Weather Clothing System, the US military's layering approach in which a waterproof shell goes over fleece and base layers. The Multicam pattern, a multi-environment camouflage that blends into woodland, scrub and arid ground, makes it a fit for hunters, campers, preppers and anyone building a cold, wet weather kit.

• 3-Layer Tri-Laminate Shell — Three bonded layers of polyester and membrane keep out wind and rain while still letting body moisture escape, so you stay drier inside on the move.
• Bemis Taped Seams — Bemis seam tape is sealed over the stitch lines so water cannot creep in through the needle holes.
• Stowable Adjustable Hood — The hood cinches down with draw cords for a close fit and rolls away into the collar when you do not need it.
• Two-Way Zipper With Storm Flap — A non-freezing two-way front zipper opens from top or bottom and sits behind a double storm flap that blocks wind-driven rain.
• Underarm Ventilation Zips — Zippered openings under each arm let you dump heat during hard effort without taking the parka off.
• Reinforced Elbows And Cuffs — Nylon-reinforced elbows resist abrasion, and hook-and-loop cuff tabs tighten around gloves or wrists to seal out drafts.
• Patch-Ready Sleeve Pockets — Flapped pockets on both sleeves are designed so you can sew on unit or identification patches.
• Hidden Map Pocket And Badge Loop — A concealed map pocket keeps documents out of the weather, and a loop on the front placket holds an insignia or badge.

Shell Build And Layering

The outer fabric is polyester in a tri-laminate construction, backed by a Dintex inner lining. Two large flapped cargo pockets sit low on the front for gear you need to reach quickly. The parka works with a polar fleece liner underneath, so the same shell covers a cool spring rain or a freezing winter day depending on what you layer under it.
