US Military M-65 Field Jacket Liner

The M-65 Cold Layer

This is the quilted liner the US military issued to go inside the M-65 field jacket. It buttons into the shell and turns a three-season jacket into a cold-weather coat. Take it out when the temperature climbs. Plenty of owners also wear it on its own, as a light insulating layer under a parka or around camp.

Features

• Wave-Pattern Quilting — Curved "onion" stitching runs across the body and sleeves and holds the insulation in place, so it cannot bunch up and leave thin, cold patches.
• Polyester Insulation — Polyester fill traps body heat and adds real warmth without the bulk of a second coat.
• Ripstop Shell — The outer fabric is woven with a reinforcing grid, visible as fine squares on the surface, so a small tear cannot run.
• Button-In Attachment — Buttonholes along the front opening fasten to the buttons inside an M-65 field jacket, so liner and shell move as one garment.
• Collarless, Open-Front Cut — The round neck and open front lie flat under the jacket's collar and zipper without crowding them.
• Bound Edges — Fabric binding finishes the neckline, front, hem and cuffs.
• OD Green Color — The liner comes in olive drab (OD green), the standard US military field color, which matches the M-65 jacket it was built for.
• Sewn-In Issue Label — A specification label sits at the back of the neck, as on other US government-issue clothing.
