Army Issue ACU Patrol Cap
This is the US Army patrol cap made to go with the Army Combat Uniform (ACU). It is printed in UCP digital camo, the pixelated gray, green and tan Universal Camouflage Pattern. The cap has a short stitched brim and a structured crown, and it was worn in the field and in garrison as the everyday soft cover under the ACU. - 50/50 Nylon-Cotton Ripstop — The fabric is half cotton and half nylon, woven with a reinforcing grid so a small tear cannot run across the panel.
- UCP Digital Camouflage — The Universal Camouflage Pattern is printed across the crown, band and brim to match ACU-pattern uniforms.
- NIR Compliant Print — The camo is printed to manage its near-infrared signature, which means it does not glow brightly under night vision devices.
- Rear Hook-And-Loop Panel — A foliage-green loop strip across the back band takes a name tape or patch with a hook backing.
- Stitched Brim — Rows of concentric stitching keep the short visor flat and stiff.
- Fitted Hat Sizing — The cap is sized by standard hat size rather than an adjustable strap, so order the size you normally wear.
- Government Contract Label — The interior tag carries the item name, contract number, NSN (National Stock Number, the federal supply catalog number), fiber content and size.
- Helmet-Compatible Profile — The label notes the cap can be worn under a helmet, with the helmet headband readjusted for fit.
Issue Specification
The cap shown was made by Sekri Industries, Inc. under contract SPM100-05-D-0511 and is labeled NSN 8415-01-519-9116 in size 7 1/8. Patrol caps in this series were produced to military specification in sizes from 6 1/2 to 8. The care label calls for machine washing on a permanent press cycle in warm water with mild detergent, with no chlorine bleach or starch. Tumble dry at low heat, no higher than 130°F (54°C).

PerfectGot this for my trips to the shooting range and its exactly what I needed. Fits my 7 5/8 head great and the digital camo looks legit. Wore it all day under the sun and it kept the glare off my eyes. Only thing is the velcro patch on front is a little stiff but who cares its surplus. Definitely buying another.

UCP Nostalgia at Its BestLook, i know UCP gets a bad rap these days and everyone's moved on to OCP, but there's something genuinely satisfying about owning a piece of real USGI kit. This patrol cap is the real deal 50/50 nylon/cotton ripstop, Quarpel water-repellent finish, the little interior map pocket (still have no idea what you're actually supposed to put in there, lol), and the NIR-compliant digital camo pattern that screams early-2000s Army. Size 7 1/4 fit my head perfectly right out of the bag, brim needed maybe 10 minutes of shaping but that's totally normal for surplus caps. Compared to the reproduction ACU patrol caps Army Surplus World sells, this genuine USGI version has noticeably tighter stitching and the camo dye just looks more saturated and correct. 'Like New' condition is accurate mine had zero visible wear, maybe a faint storage smell that aired out in a day. If you're building out a period-correct ACU impression or just want a tough, well-made field cap, grab one before they're all gone.

Best $5 cap for yard work and hikingbought three of these because at $4.95 each I figured I'd lose them anyway. Wore one doing landscaping all weekend 80 degrees and sunny and the ripstop fabric actually breathes. Didn't get sweaty like my cotton ball caps, and the flat-top design with the stiff brim keeps the sun off better than I expected. Washed it Monday night and it came out looking new, no shrinkage or fading. For the price of a coffee, you can't beat this level of durability, and the surplus condition was essentially brand new
