Selector Detent

The selector detent is the small spring-loaded pin that holds your safety selector in place and gives it the positive click between safe and fire. It rides in a hole in the lower receiver, pushed up by the selector detent spring so the lever stays where you set it. This United Defense detent is a drop-in replacement for standard AR-15 and AR-10 lowers, the fix when an old detent wears down and the selector starts feeling loose or vague.

Build And Fit

This is a replacement component for safety selector operation, paired with a detent spring that sits below it in the grip screw channel. The hardened steel construction resists the wear that eventually rounds off an original detent and makes a selector feel mushy. Use it to restore crisp safe-to-fire engagement on an AR-15 or AR-10 build. Note that the detent spring is a separate part and is not included.
