Short, Stout, Well Made
Review by Jill A.
I bent a Columbian style machete clearing wild grape vines, ivy, and wild rose from our fence rows. This one is shorter, but the blade is heavier. After touching up the edge a little, I was slicing 3/4" grape vines in a single stroke without swinging as hard. The handle is well attached although it could use a beefier heel for use with winter gloves. Very pleased - a lifetime tool.

Stout and well made
Review by Daryll E.
I have been using machetes for over 50 years. Bought this one for my grandson who enjoys the outdoors. Appears well made and looks like it should have a long service life. Sheath fits perfect. Many of the reviews concur that the sheaths handle retaining strap isn't located properly. My grandson thought so too, but after properly inserting the machete into the sheath as it's brand new and tight it fits perfect without slopping around.

Fake goods - not real Condor
Review by Gracy C.
This is not Condor Tool & Knife Co, from El Salvador, home of great machetes. This is some knockoff Condor brand. You can find this on Alibaba for around $5. Compare the cheap finishing on these handles to a real Condor. Illegal trademark infringement? Shame on you!

The contour handle fits my hand, making it a comfortable tool to use.
Review by Banessa E.
This is a very attractive and useful tool. But be prepared for some imperfections in the blade treatment. If you are looking for a beautiful thing to hang on the wall, maybe not this one. If you're looking for a tool that will serve you for the rest of your life, jump on it.

Good machete
Review by Lorita Z.
Has good weight to it. Can definitely clear brush and trees out. You do have to keep it oiled so if you don’t want to keep up with the maintenance I would suggest the El Salvador by condor. Otherwise this is a nice little guy for clearing.

Finger Smudges On Blade and Poor Sheath Design
Review by Garreth P.
Just received this machete and am surprised to see the POOR craftsmanship for such a pricey tool.

Why is there a finger smudge and many chemical circles so visible on the blade (from staining process, I assume)?!

The leather strap that secures the machete to the holder is also designed poorly in that it doesn’t allow the blade to sit down fully into the sheath/only fits on the most narrow part of the handle. The strap should have been placed lower on the sheath or the strap itself should be larger to allow the machete to seat fully into the holder.

I can’t believe the price of this relative to quality and hope the thick steel and sharp edge makes up for shoddy craftsmanship.

only problem!
Review by Toris W.
this is a very well made machete w/ an excellent thicker, high quality steel blade. i have purchased (4) of these machetes as gifts. There is a consistent problem problem w/ the leather restraining strap around the handle. The strap is located too high on the handle, the strap is too short, not allowing the snap to close. I took the scabbards to a leather store and had the leather straps removed, lowered to the proper finger indentation groove on the handle and re-riveted in place. A rivet was placed in the original incorrect scabbard/strap location. Now all is good but it took some unnecessary work.

It's ok
Review by Keona B.
Compared to a Martindale British army golok machete at half the price it's ok. Same style of machete. The Condor is better finished. Nice Condor convex grind. Full tang. But I kind of like the Martindale better even though it's less finished. and doesn't usually come with a sheath. Not saying the Condor isn't sweet but the Martindale feels more balanced in my hand and both have basically the same performance.. If you can't sharpen a edge or use sandpaper to smooth a handle definitely the Condor is the item. Otherwise it's a toss up. BTW the coating on the Condor blade is uneven in coverage. Thin in some places, runs in others as some reviewers noted. Looks dipped and allowed to dry with no particular care to finish other than corrosion protection. I'm ok with that but some might mind.

Great small machete
Review by Shaune V.
I got this specifically because I wanted a 'small' machete that would occupy little side to side space (like thicker bending kuks) so that it would fit nicely on the side of my pack or at my waist. I also wanted something that would be easier to use in close quarters work, unlike bigger and longer machetes. This works perfectly for all of that.

Craftmanship is nailed here--this baby is built like a tank but the weight is just right. There is no point on the tip, because it is for chopping and slashing, not jabbing. The steel is thick for hard use but not so thick as to be too heavy. The handle feels comfortable in the hand. The sheath isn't all leather, so it's better outside in my area--it isn't fancy but it does the job right.

Very happy with it--it has now taken its place on my pack. Feel almost a bit Grimm. :)

Very well constructed machete. Quality materials and a well made blade. I love the look and feel of this machete. If this is a style of blade you're looking for you'll be satisfied. Condor makes great products.

I am extremely pleased with this machete
Review by Lacy O.
I am extremely pleased with this machete. It's surprisingly heavy for its size, due to the thick slab of metal it was milled from, and I'm confident I could chop down a tree with it if I had to. It took a touch of honing out of the box, and I would really have preferred a leather sheath for the price, but other than that I'd say this is a true heavy-duty blade.
