Byrna Kinetic rounds give a 12 gauge shotgun a less-lethal option: ammunition built to stop a threat with blunt impact rather than penetration, though any projectile can still cause serious injury. Each 2.5-inch shell fires a solid .61-caliber fin-tailed projectile with no gunpowder and no chemical payload. They suit home defense and property protection for shooters who already own a shotgun and want a round to use before lethal force is called for.

Shotgun Compatibility

Kinetic rounds work in virtually all 12 gauge shotguns, with pump-action guns the natural fit. They also chamber and fire in semi-automatic shotguns, but without gunpowder they lack the gas pressure to cycle the action, so you have to work the action by hand between shots.
