Cascade Cartridge Inc., commonly known as CCI, is an ammunition manufacturer based in Lewiston, Idaho that specializes in rimfire ammunition, centerfire handgun ammunition and primers. Established by Dick Speer, brother of Vernon Speer, in 1951 as a steady source for primers, CCI evolved quickly into the full-scale operation dedicated to providing shooters with a wide variety of ammunition targeted for specific applications that it is today.
Now, more than 60 years later, CCI is a subsidiary of Alliant Techsystems – a conglomerate that owns the Federal Cartridge Company as well as many other high-profile ammunition manufacturers while also holding the production contract for the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) in Independence, Missouri. This partnership furthered CCI's ability to provide shooters with innovative new products marked by their consistent performance and unyielding reliability. Moreover, it has placed the company among the leaders in the rimfire ammunition industry. With ties like that, CCI is a name that shooters can trust.
CCI .22 LR Quiet-22 ammunition is a product from the company's extensive line of competition, plinking and target ammunition. The competition, plinking and target lineup offers a variety of rimfire loads in several different calibers that utilize the innovative bullet technologies developed by CCI over the course of its storied history. Each product in this particular line is marked by its consistent high performance, uncanny accuracy and outstanding value – all qualities that make this ammunition a perfect choice for anyone, from backyard shooters to serious competitors.
That said each box of CCI .22 LR Quiet-22 ammunition, as noted, contains 50 non-corrosive, brass-cased rimfire cartridges. Each cartridge contains a 40 gr lead round nose projectile, which is marked by its consistency as well as a respectable muzzle velocity. In fact, this particular load is capable of producing muzzle velocities that have been observed to travel at speeds of up to 710 fps. As noted, this particular load is also marked by its reduction in perceived noise – 75 percent reduction as compared to a standard .22 LR load, making this load suitable for shooting in areas where noise levels present a concern. All CCI ammunition is manufactured using premium raw materials and newly manufactured brass cases in the United States at their main manufacturing facility in Lewiston, Idaho.

I bought a box of these to try recently and they really are a lot quieter than normal loads.
They remind me of the Aquylla CB round but a little nore power
Bottom line is they are quieter because they are way Syb Sonic!
BUT.... I do NOT recomend firing these through a suppressor due to the exposed lead! When a lead bullet is fired the back of the bullet burns and turns into a gas momentarily. While this dont hurt performance it does lead your suppressors baffles up till it literally causes the suppressor to gain wirght and reduces its effectiveness
When that happens unless you have the type can that can be disasembled at home (most aren't) then you have to send your can back to the manufacture and have it broken down and the baffles cleaned
In short if you need a round for shooting rabbits and squirrels at less than 25 yards and noice reduction is imprortant to you then this is the round you need
BUT... Like everything, else in life nothing is free.
In exchange for the reduced noise you also get reduced power and range.
If you plan on shooting more than 25 yards these probably aren't the rounds for you
Also, While these rounds they are best suited for bolt actions or single shots as they won't cycle most autoloaders
