CCI Quiet-22 Segmented Hollow Point 22LR

Quiet 22 LR for Small Game

CCI Quiet-22 Segmented Hollow Point is a low-velocity .22 Long Rifle load built for shooting small game and pests where muzzle report matters, such as near neighbors, around a farmyard or in a backyard. CCI rates it at 75 percent less perceived noise than a standard .22 LR round. The segmented bullet keeps it effective on game despite the reduced speed. Each box holds 50 cartridges.

Features

• .22 Long Rifle Chambering — Fits any firearm chambered for .22 LR, the most common rimfire cartridge in use.
• 40 Grain Bullet — A standard .22 LR bullet weight, so point of impact stays familiar for many rifles at short range.
• 710 FPS Muzzle Velocity — Well below the speed of sound, so the bullet does not make the sharp supersonic crack that a high-velocity .22 does.
• 75 Percent Less Perceived Noise — CCI rates the report at a quarter of a standard .22 LR round, which makes it less likely to disturb people or livestock nearby.
• Segmented Hollow Point — A hollow point is a bullet with a cavity in its nose, and this one is designed to separate into three equal parts on impact.
• Three-Way Energy Transfer — Splitting into three pieces spreads the bullet's energy through the target, which CCI says triples its effect on small game.
• Rimfire Brass Case — The priming compound sits in the rim of the brass case, so the firing pin ignites the round by striking its edge.
• 50-Round Box — Packed 50 cartridges to a box under CCI product number 970.

Build and Fit Notes

Each round pairs a brass rimfire case with a copper-colored lead bullet that has a hollow point. Lubrication grooves sit just above the case mouth. Because the load runs at low velocity and pressure, it may not reliably cycle some semi-automatic actions. It suits bolt-action, lever-action, single-shot and other manually operated .22 LR rifles best. Keep shots at the short ranges where a 710 fps load is effective.
