The Cold Steel Frontier Hawk (SKU 90FH) is a long-handled hatchet built on the old tomahawk pattern: a flared steel head looped around the top of a straight wooden handle. Head And Handle

The Frontier Hawk does not use the wedge-and-glue fit of a conventional hatchet. Its head is held by the handle's taper together with a set screw, which is how traditional tomahawks are mounted. The handle is plain wood with no coating or grip wrap, so you can sand, oil or shape it to suit your hand. The edge is sharpened, so handle and store it with care.
