Crimson Trace
Authorized Dealer • Est. 1994
The company that put laser sighting in the American shooter’s hand. Since 1994, Oregon-based Crimson Trace has pioneered Lasergrips, LaserSaddle shotgun sights, and Instinctive Activation — aiming solutions that switch on the moment you take a firing grip. Part of the Smith & Wesson family since 2016, and factory-installed on pistols across the industry.
About Crimson Trace
Before Crimson Trace, a laser on a defensive handgun was an awkward add-on — something bolted to a rail that you had to remember to switch on. Founded in 1994 in Oregon, Crimson Trace changed that with Lasergrips: replacement grips with the laser built in and a pressure pad placed exactly where your hand lands. The company calls it Instinctive Activation — take a normal firing grip and the laser is already on. That simple idea made laser sighting a mainstream defensive tool, and today many major handgun makers ship pistols from the factory with Crimson Trace lasers pre-installed.
Three decades on, the Wilsonville, Oregon company has grown well beyond grips. The line now spans Laserguard trigger-guard lasers, Rail Master universal rail units, LaserSaddle receiver-mounted shotgun sights, red-dot optics, and tactical weapon lights. Smith & Wesson acquired Crimson Trace in 2016, and the brand continues to design its laser systems in the USA, backed by a three-year factory warranty.
Keep Shooting carries Crimson Trace where it shines brightest — home-defense shotguns. The LaserSaddle for Mossberg 500, 590, and Shockwave bolts a 5mW red laser straight onto the receiver with ambidextrous activation pads and no gunsmithing, while the red LaserSaddle for Remington 870 and Tac-14 does the same for Big Green. Rounding out the lineup, the CWL-202 tactical light throws 900 lumens from a Picatinny, KeyMod, or M-LOK mount and doubles as a standalone flashlight.
