    Light, tough, warm, in a mess kit. I can cook and stay dry at the same time. Love it!

    I wanted a multi-purpose poncho, lightweight, tough, waterproof. What I found was a pack tent, mess kit, water catcher, poncho and bug net all-in-one, lightweight and waterproof. What a deal! This multi-function waterproof bag folds into a perfect poncho size, keeps the wind off and keeps me dry while cooking and keeping an eye on storms. There is a secret hidden flap to attach a bag for food and tools inside, while there is another zippered water catcher for holding extra water. In a very convenient compartment there is a mesh pocket and an aluminum tube with an escape valve that can connect to a bipack system. And in case I need it I can make a survival tent. In all, I can keep a full meal and other tools and equipment with me while keeping an eye on weather and storms. For my size there is room to carry a 3l waterbottle. Love it! And at less than 2.0 lbs. its great for backpacking, camping, bugging out, whatever your activity or event! It does not make noise while moving or folded. Just perfect! If it wasn't for being issued during military service it would be worth 5 stars but I do give it 5 for the effort put into this useful, functional piece of light weight equipment. I do recommend to anyone, especially to a novice or light backpacker. 4 Stars (Best value for your money. Worth buying and very useful!) Update: Now after 2 years and a half years of constant field test in any imaginable condition (for example, from high desert of 35°C down to 0°C in snow), there is only minor sign of wear (very small holes on poncho) and overall still 100% usable and recommended.

    This US Army multi-purpose camo black Poncho by TransRapid Manufacturing Corporation. was what I was looking for, this fine quality, roomy military poncho is just what I wanted for my extensive kit, the size is big enough to put under me for sleeping. The design has the rear flap ties, it has many ties around the perimeter and overlaps in a watertight manner and also in several areas. It was delivered in good condition.     Good strong light weight covering. It’s strong enough that one could tie or pin in multiple ways to other clothes, packs or tent’s with very good support, this would help hold you up in bad circumstances as you should be safe on the surface, just keep a lite rucksack on for extra protection against the dirt/shrubs/trees/ice etc., The only problem is the ties aren’t strong enough on their own. However, when I find/use plastic tie straps to join two ends together with this inside of it (so that I can reach all the straps and grommets etc.) It makes a very comfortable, waterproof, but very light tent to sleep in/keep in the car or wherever you want it for short term’s protection/shelter. When it’s warm enough you can open it up and it will be as comfortable and light as the two plastic straps that I used with mine, plus it’s perfect for shade/sunblock in bright/hot weather. A must have. And it will hold up your water supply too...lol !
